Grungy Teenage Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is Wednesday and time for a new challenger over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives. Our guest designer for the next fortnight is Hannelie, you can check out her fabulous creations on here on Hannelie's blog.

My DT project for the new challenge is ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #112 we're looking for makes which are inspired by Computers/Gaming. Lots of scope there!

I went for a grungy teenager take of the theme featuring a rough watercolour background with splatters and stamping. The laptop is watercoloured and fuzzy cut. I finished off with doodles and decorative tape.

Fancy creating something for a male person in your life, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!

May TAGplorations Reminder

Hello Crafty Friends!

May's TAGplorations Challenge is in full swing over at STAMPlorations. There is still time to play along ...

The theme for May is: All About Mom
The optional twist is: to use Vellum

Here is my artsy looking tag ....

It doesn't need much colouring, just a little bit on the butterflies.

I used the Fluttery Garden digi stamps, resized them and printed out two, one was for a full card front, which I cut the tag from, and the other one was for half a card front, which I needed for the layered butterfly.

Next I pencil coloured the butterflies and wings and added splatters using my spritzing inks. I heat embossed and die-cut my sentiment, added the fuzzy cut butterfly and finished off with ribbon and candy dots.

If you love tags, why not give it a go and play along? Your project can be anything as long as it features a tag. You can enter as many projects as you want, but one per blog post please, and you don't have to use STAMPlorations products, yet we'd be thrilled if you would. There is currently a free image to download at STAMPlorations Never ending Anything Goes Challenge here. Please check out the full revised challenge guidelines here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

One lucky winner, voted for by the DT, will win a $15 STAMPlorations gift certificate and 3 randomly picked players will win a $5 STAMPlorations gift certificate each.

Ready for more tagtastic inspiration? Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see the gorgeous projects my teamies created and, of course, to link up your tag project/s too.

More challenge and tag inspirations can be found here in the May Challenges Reminder post over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely weekend.

A Whale's Life

Hello Crafty Friends!

STAMPlorations are releasing two new stamp sets today designed by Becca under her label Big Grins By Becca Cruger. Here they are:

For my DT projects, I worked with A Ton Of Fun to make these cute cards ...

I wanted them to look watery and splattery hence I added some ink and water to my craft mat and dipped my cards into the mix to create my backgrounds.

For the baby card, I used masking, stamping and a mix of Spectrum Noir and watercolouring with a few white gel pen highlights. I finished off with googly eyes and a little button.

For my next card, I added some stamping to the background before adding some extra splatters. The little whale was stamped on a piece of card I had previously used to mop up some left over ink from my craft mat. I simply fuzzy cut the shape, added the little breathing fountain and sentiment and finished off with decorative tape, sequins and button.

Now as usual, STAMPlorations are celebrating the release with a little Blog Hop. Check out the fabulous creations my teamies made over on the STAMPlorations Blog and hop over to their blogs to leave comments as you go along. There are a couple of prizes which will be drawn at random from all the comments left on the STAMPlorations Blog and participating Designer's Blogs. Commenting closes 31st May and the winners will be announced in the May Winners Post on 10th June.

Here are the prizes:

- ONE (1) winner of a $15 gift code
- ONE (1) winner of her choice of any in-stock Big Grins by Becca Cruger stamp set

Both of Becca's new sets (A Ton of Fun | Wild and Free) are instantly 10% off in the STAMPlorations online store, no coupon needed. Feel free to use my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout for an added 20% off their stamps, dies and stencils.

Catitude

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is Wednesday and time for a new challenger over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives. Our guest designer for the next fortnight is Jane Willis, you can check out her fabulous creations on here on Jane's blog.

My DT project for the new challenge is ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #111 it's Anything Goes with the optional twist of 'Origami'. Lots of scope there!

As you can see, this time round I didn't go with the optional twist, I stayed with the Anything Goes instead.

At the weekend I went to the Art Stamping Festival in Port Sunlight and treated myself to some new catty stamps. I just had to play with these Cool Cats.

The background is stencilled and the cat is coloured using brush markers, the rest is simple stamping ...

... and you got a one-layer card with Catitude!

Comfort Zone

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and that means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.

Here is my DT make ...

Having been musing about the pros and cons of comfort zones recently, this sentiment really appealed to me. The background is simply stenciled and stamped with a few added splatters on which I embossed the Typographia sentiment. To finish, I highlighted the words 'beautiful place' with a yellow brush marker. Enjoy! 💖

For more bold and beautiful Typographia stamps, check out the Typographia section in the STAMPlorations online store, where products are on sale at 15% off until 31st May, no coupon needed.
