The Best Is Yet To Come

Hello Crafty Friends!

How time flies! Two weeks have passed, and it is time for a new challenge over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making cards for the men in our lives. Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #80 we are looking for something re-cycled or re-purposed. Lots of scope there!

I had this little tin lying around always intending to use it sometimes. Just a side note, please be aware that other brands of peanuts do exist. I got these a few years ago from a local shop in the UK.

I turned it into a desk tidy for my hubby. The newsprint paper was originally cream hence I sponged it using a few shades of blue. I simply stamped some butterflies and signposts before attaching it to my tin using double sided tape.

I then added the ribbon and die-cut words ...

... and finished off with my white embossed and die-cut sentiment label.

Fancy creating your own re-cycled, up-cycled or re-purposed make, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!

Feel Alive

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps designed by STAMPlorations owner Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'.

To banish the snow and ice from the East and to look forward to Spring and the beginning of the caravan season, I decided to work with the Charmed Cherry Blossoms and Wanderlust stamp sets plus the tag from the Tag O'Coffee CUTplorations Dies to create a card capturing the joy of going on little adventures.

Here it is ...

The tag looks a bit like a window into the future. I used my stamping tool to get the stamped and masked cherry blossoms well aligned over the layers.

For the tag, I used a bit of marker watercolouring and sponging for the hills. The sentiment itself is stamped in Elegant Eggplant, an almost black purple rather than black. I waned to highlight that we feel most alive where colour is.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'. To mix it up a little, all stamps, stencils and dies - except from the Retiring category- are reduced by 10% this week in the STAMPlorations Shop, no coupon needed. Using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout will give you an added 20% off. I would love for you to take advantage of this great offer.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

Gift Of Thanks

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'.

I decided to work with Deepti's Gift Builder #1 Layering Dies and the matching gift from the Party Mates stamp set plus a little help from the Thanks Word Die to create a CAS card not on the usual white base but a pink one instead. Here it is ...

Well, I had this die-cut gift in my 'to be used soon' pile from where it finally got rescued to feature in my card. I simply added a bit of Washi, dry wall tape, a die-cut sentiment from the same pile and finished off with sequins and glitter glue.

Well, you might wonder where the stamp got used ... it became the finishing touch for the inside in combination with doodles.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'. All stamps, stencils and dies, except from the retiring category, are reduced by 10% in the STAMPlorations Shop. Using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at check out will give you an extra 20% off.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

Nesting Dies - Take 1

Hello Crafty Friends!

A project without stamping for you today, hope you like it! The bag was made as a Spotlight Tutorial for STAMPlorations which can be found on their blog here.

I have been playing with Nesting Dies, the Curly Labels/Tags Nesting Dies to be precise, to make a little handbag inspired by one I made a few years ago when crafting with my friend Dianne. It is the first project in a little series using the nesting dies in various ways. Here is the finished bag:

Here are a few more photos of the finished bag:

That's it from me for today. The full step-by-step tutorial can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

Have a lovely Valentine's Day!

Spreading A Little Love

Happy Valentine's Day, my Crafty Friends!

I just want to spread a little love today by sharing two cards with you, I made whilst playing with bits from my desk. It is much easier to make cards using them than tidying them away. 😄

I used pearlised card, a bit of sponging, spritzing, a die-cut, some nail embellishment hearts and one of Becca's great sentiments. It looks a bit like fireworks of love going off.

This card simply used up some die-cut clustered hearts with a bit of bling.

That's it from me for today. Thanks so much for being there. Hope you are being spoiled.

Enjoy your Valentine's Day!

You're A Star!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's the start of a new challenge over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making cards for the men in our lives. Here is my DT project ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #79 we are getting sporty. With the Winter Olympics being in full swing, you should get lots of inspiration. Lots of scope there!

I am not really the sporty type hence I really had to search through my stash to find this little cutie.

May I just take the opportunity to say, that the blue is purely coincidental. I am not a football supporter. Across the river in Liverpool the rivalry between blues and reds is too great to get involved.

Apart from that, the card is simply stamped, coloured and sponged. Pretty straight forward, I would say.

If you fancy getting sporty with us, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!

Hello Crafty Friends! Have you ever needed to make a box to fit a little gift? Well, I had this jar of chutney in need of a gift box, and I thought I'd share my process with you. I hope that my tutorial over on the STAMPlorations Blog will help even novices to make their own boxes.
