Found Fragments 3 - new over at STAMPlorations

Hi Crafty Friends!

Continuing on from yesterday, I'm sharing two more cards showcasing the Found Fragments #3 stamp by STAMPlorations.

It is the one stamp I had to sneak into yesterday's project and a Christmas card I shared a few days ago.

Have a look what I made for today ...

My first card uses the Found Fragments #3 stamp to add a bit of texture to a blended background. I stamped it slightly outside the sponged area to add some interest outside the lines. A sentiment from Art Is and a single sequin finished off my card. 

BTW, I used Daffodil Delight for both blending the background and stamping the Found Fragments #3.

My second card came about because of an inked up stamp which I decided against using whilst at the same time not wanting to waste the ink. 😀 This pastel looking card was born.

A sentiment from Art Is, a doodled border and sequin were added to finish it off.

Summing up today's cards:

Always have a piece of card or base card ready in case you don't want to waste ink. You never know what it might lead to.

Simplicity is key and careful placements of stamped elements outside the lines can create interesting designs.

Maker's Mark 1 - new over at STAMPlorations

Hi Crafty Friends!

Let me introduce you to the first card of my set of 5 note cards using the new Maker's Mark and Found Fragments stamps by STAMPlorations. The cards are one-layer to show the new stamps off at their best.

Have a look ... 

Today's card uses a couple of stamps from the Maker's Mark set in combination with the Found Fragments 3 stamp for my background. They were stamped on an ink blended background, using the Squares Flexi-Template as mask, in Blackcurrant Jam Prism ink. 

Doodles, sentiment and star embellies finished the card off

Further stamped finishing touches were added to the envelope and the reverse of my card.

Summing up today's post:

A tone-on-tone background can show your stamps off beautifully which is perfect for one-layer cards where the sentiment can provide the contrast.

The Maker's Mark stamps can be used to add little messages to your background.

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's all about gingerbread inspiration and slimline cards for today's showcase of the Retro Christmas STAMPcuts by STAMPlorations.

Have a look ...

Somehow I was in need of baubles and with Happy Post popping through my door again, I found my ideal background in repeat stamping the new Found Fragments #3 stamp down one side of my card topper. The circles were coloured in festive red and green, mainly lime green to be precise, picking up colours from the shadow colours of the Merry Christmas STAMPcut ... and here they were ... my background baubles.

Everything was layered up and the Christmas stockings finished off with a few gems for sparkle.

My second card was actually made before the first one and it's thanks to the ephemera tiles that  today's post has the gingerbread feel.

The background of stamped poinsettia with golden splatters, nicely mirroring the wreath's circular shape, brings movement to the card by inviting the eyes to wander.

Today's cards showcasing the Retro Christmas STAMPcuts by STAMPlorations are quick and easy to make yet still have plenty of interest thanks to the Quick Card Fronts I used.

I know you may feel that it is a little bit early to take a deep dive into Christmas card making in September when there are still a few months to go. I fully understand this yet Shery, STAMPlorations owner, is taking a well deserved break starting in late September and pretty much all of October. This means, depending on where you live, it will be prudent to get your Christmas card making stash ordered soon.

Have a look at today's quick makes ...

For my first card, I didn't want to go fully retro hence I chose the more modern pink-ish poinsettia from the Simply Christmas A2 Quick Card Fronts #15 which I layered on a matching base card. The gems finishing off my card are pink and purple, an unexpected splash of colour for my joyful card.

Tidings of Joy was just the ideal sentiment to use.

My next card is a more traditional one but still has the unexpected splash of colour in the form of two line green sequins to pick up the olive almost lime green colour from the sentiment's shadow.

This time I used one of the Christmas A2 Qick Card Fronts and added some stamping to slightly alter the look using the retired Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower which is still available in digital format and with a suitable printer can directly be printed onto card to create backgrounds and much more.

The bold Comfort & Joy sentiment from the Retro Christmas STAMPcuts set provides the perfect focal point to finish my card off.

Summing up today's cards:

You can add a playful and joyful sense to your cards by using unexpected splashes of colour in your embellishments.

The large sentiments from the Retro Christmas STAMPcuts provide ideal focal points to shine the light on your Christmas message while the smaller ones can be perfectly partnered with with a bold focal point such as the poinsettia I used.

My Retro Christmas STAMPcuts by STAMPlorations popped through my letterbox the other day. Of course, I had ti immediately make good use of them.

For today's post I've chosen two of the square cards I made. Have a look ...

My first card features the simple word Believe from the Retro Christmas STAMPcuts set. I combined it with two pieces from the Classic Christmas Perfect Pairs Ephemera Cuts and a stencilled background using the Dots All Over and the Christmas Tree 1 Stencils.

My second card uses the Merry & Bright sentiment with one of the Christmas Backgrounds ATC #1. The candles and stars were ideal for my chosen sentiment. 

The background has been stamped with an old favourite of mine, the retired Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower which is still available in digital format and with a suitable printer can directly be printed onto card to create backgrounds and much more.

Summing up today's post:

The new Retro Christmas STAMPcuts co-ordinate very well with other STAMPlorations products to give your cards the very popular retro feel
