Oh Frap!

 Hi Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations plus it is also the start of the National Coffee Day Hop. Given that STAMPlorations are one of their Super Sponsors, it had to be something coffee themed.

Here is today's DT project ...

Well I went a little bit coffee mad and created a collage background using a few coffee themed stickers which I adhered to the result of a little play time I had with the Triangles Flexi-Templates and the Make Marks 2 stencil. To complement an autumnal colour scheme I layered my panel on a kraft base card and finished off with the Coffee Cup Silhouette and a die-cut sentiment.

If you love coffee and you want to join the National Coffee Day Hop, you can find the full hop on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog here.

Until October 6 STAMPlorations are offering 20% off instantly on all coffee themed products listed on their National Coffee Day Sale page.

Should you find yourself placing an order, feel free to use my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout for a 20% discount on your order. Please note that my discount code can not be combined with any other coupon code, but you can use it as often as you wish. I've got to be honest, if you use the code and/or the link to the STAMPlorations Shop I provide in my posts for your purchases, I will get a little reward.

That's it from me for today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out my teamies' beautiful makes and to leave a comment there for your chance of winning one of the two Super Sponsor prizes: one $20 gift code redeemable at the STAMPlorations Shop and one Zen Coffee 1 Cover Plate Die. Commenting will close on October 6.

Hope you're having a lovely week!

Happy Birthday Nancy!

 Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card made for my friend Nancy. It is currently in the process of winging its way across the Atlantic.

Happy Birthday, Nancy! Wishing you a wonderful day! 💕

Loll from Stamping with Loll is hosting a linky party to help Nancy celebrate a mile stone birthday. Pop over to Loll's Blog for all the details.

Once you are above a certain age, like me, it's better not to talk about numbers hence there is none on my card. 😀

Here are just a few steps on how my card came together.

I stamped the cupcake and sponged the arc ...

... using the soon to be released Ovals Flexi-Templates. Apologies about the used tape.

I then masked the cupcake, stamped the sentiment and flipped the template by 180 degrees and sponged the lower part of the arc.

That's it from me. Wishing Nancy all the best. Hopefully you can celebrate well, my friend.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

hugs

Christmas In The Air - September

Hi Crafty Friends!

Well, what can I say? Autumn is here and it's high time to make some Christmas cards.

Today I'm sharing a couple of projects made for September's Christmas In The Air feature over at STAMPlorations. In this special feature Nancy and I are sharing a couple of Christmas projects each.

My first card features Sanna's new Holly Stencil in combination with my Triangle Flexi-Templates (due for release in early October), the Oh, My Stars! Mini Stencil, the Layered Lights stamp set and the Simple Christmas clear stickers.

I placed the large triangle template first on my card stock and then the Holly stencil over it to first sponge the holly with Old Olive SU ink. I then removed the Holly stencil and sponged the triangle.

To finish I added some stars from the Oh, My Stars! mini stencil, the stamped Layered Lights and the Simple Christmas sticker sentiment.

TIP!: Whenever I want to use edging on a sticker sentiment I use an alcohol marker rather than ink. That way it won't wipe off.

***********
Next up is a card using another one of Sanna's new stencils, Winter Flowers, in combination with the Triangles Flexi-Templates and the Layered Lights stamp set.

The inside reads ... Merry Christmas.

Here is how I used the Flexi-Templates to create the striking background. I first lightly sponged the triangle in Aurore Izink ink.

Next I sponged the frame in Miel Izink ink. I used the triangle missing from the photo below to align the inner triangles as mask. It was used as spacer and I simply removed it after I secured the inner triangles in place.

I placed the frame back in and placed the Winter Flowers stencil over it to stencil the flowers in the center.

To finish, I layered on my base card and added some lights, sentiment and sequins.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out the lovely projects my teamie Nancy made. The Christmas In The Air feature also doubles up as a mini blog hop. Shery will randomly draw one winner of a $15 gift code from all the comments left on the Christmas In The Air posts on the STAMPlorations Blog, on Nancy's blog and on my blog.

Should you find yourself placing an order, feel free to use my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout for a 20% discount on your order. I've got to be honest, if you use the code and/or the link to the STAMPlorations Shop I provide in my posts for your purchases, I will get a little reward.

Hopefully Nancy and I have inspired you to add to your 2020 Christmas stash.
Wishing you lots of fun hopping along.

Best Day Ever

 Hi Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.

As promised another make using the soon-to-be-released Flexi-Templates. Here is today's DT project ...

Can you guess which one I used?

Well, I was working with the Ovals Flexi-Templates to create my sponges arcs. They were layered as shown in the photo below. Of course, you can make them smaller too by attaching one or two of the larger ovals to the square instead of clustering the all together as I did.

I simply sponged and kept on rotating the arc for each colour.

A stamped sentiment and fuzzy cut cake finished my card off.

Each month STAMPlorations are having a different promotion. This month they're offering 15% off stencils with code STENCIL15 and 25% off stamps with code STAMP25. Introducing Flexi-Templates by MonikSkinner designs

 Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I have a few mainly one-layer makes for you introducing you to the new kid on the block ... 5 sets of Flexi-Templates, Circles, Ovals, Triangles, Rectangles and Squares ... designed by myself.

The idea was to have some shapes that can be used flexibly in multiple ways to create frames, backgrounds and much more. They are a good way of adding layers without adding bulk to a card. They can be used on their own or in combination with stencils and stamps to add texture.

Let me show you a few easy ways of using them to start with.

First up are the Flexi-Templates Squares with a simple frame design.

I used inks and brushes for blending. The frames can easily be secured with repositionable tape to the cardstock. The background was made before I decided to take photos hence I simply placed the Flexi-Template segments on.

I started with the inner turquoise square before masking it with the smaller segments and removing the one for blending the darker frame.

Before stamping the flower and grasses, I removed the segments from the inner turquoise and added the one over the darker frame again to act as mask.

A doodled border and stamped sentiment finished my card off.

My next card features the Triangles Flexi-Templates in a layered design.

I started off with the largest shape and lightly blended with turquoise before adding my smaller segment and blending with the same colour. The same pattern was sponged on the other side of my card.

A bold sentiment and stars finished my card off.

Next up is a card featuring a shadow made using the Rectangles Felxi-Templates.

The turquoise rectangle was sponged slightly offset to the right and the top. This was to allow for the shadow and would roughly keep my background central.

I then masked as shown in the second photo and sponged the darker blue for the shadow.

A Typogeafia sentiment and a little flower finished my card off.

Next up are the Ovals Flexi-Templates in combination with the Beyond the Trees slimline stencil.

Again I had made the background before photographing it. The Beyond the Trees stencil got secured to the card first before all the ovals were used apart from the center one where I sponged with yellow. I then removed the next oval element and sponged with orange slightly overlapping with the yellow. I continued removing the elements in turn and sponged with red and purple to finish my background.

The little Fairie and sentiment from the Fairie Door set were perfect for the magical wooded background.

The last set, the Circles Flexi-Templates, features in my next card.

Before starting to get inky, I secured all the circles together on the reverse side and put them aside while I was blending my ink for the off-the-page circle. I then layered the elements of the circles template to give me a crescent shape, aligned it as shown in the photos and blended with inks.

A bit of spritzed water, stamping and sequins finished my card off.

I hope you enjoyed my little introduction to the new Flexi-Templates and that it has given you some ideas on how they can be used. I shall incorporate them into a few more of my projects over the next few weeks as I continue to experiment and play with them.

Each month STAMPlorations are having a different promotion. This month they're offering 15% off stencils with code STENCIL15 and 25% off stamps with code STAMP25. That's it from me for today. I shall be back with more Flexi- Templates inspiration on Tuesday and Wednesday for sure Hope you're having a lovely week!
