The background was created using a Poly Plate by Crafty Roo Designs and the stars stamp and sentiment from the Kathryn And Christmas set by STAMPlorations. It was finished off with a hand doodled border.

Sharing the third card made in support of STAMPlorations owner Shery. It uses the Sketchy Yule Trees from the Holiday Stamps Bundle. Have a look ...

The background was made using the Circles Flexi-Template and Crackling Campfire DI, I think. I then added a bit of tacky glue and gilding flakes before finishing off with a die-cut sentiment and a touch of glitter glue.

December Theme & Photo Prompt Reminder

Just a quick reminder that there is still time to play along at STAMPlorations December Challenges. Here is my reminder DT project for their Theme & Photo Prompt challenge ...

You ca either follow the theme, which this month is Stamps & Shimmer, take inspiration from the photo or incorporate both.

I used both in my project. The silver embossing of the stamped trees, the shimmer in the card I used for my die-cut sentiment and a little bit of Sprinkle IT in my pigment powder background provide a lot of subtle shimmer. The Christmas trees and some of the colours were inspired by the photo.

As for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge prizes:

Christmas Duo

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday which means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. Today's projects follow the same layout with a little bit of tweaking. Here the are, my DT projects ...

I used the Ovals Flex-Template, picked the size to suit my trees and lightly sponged the background using Periwinkle Prism ink. I then simply added the stars, snowflakes and sentiments before popping my trees up against the background.

Quick and easy cards with a delicate festive look.

Christmas Trees & Stencils

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing a couple of projects made for March's Christmas In The Air feature over at STAMPlorations. In this special feature Nancy and I are sharing a couple of Christmas projects each on the 2nd Wednesday in March and May.

This month I thought I'd go with Christmas Trees and stencilled backgrounds allowing the Sketchy Yule Trees to take center stage.

My first card features one of them with a starry background ...

I coloured the tree with metallic pencils, stencilled the stars and grounded my tree with my stamped sentiment. It was stamped in full to one side of the tree and just a bit of it to the other side.

You can easily do this using a stamping tool, simply by sliding your card across as shown ...

As you can see, these photos of the easy way were taken after my card was finished which means I did it the hard way. ;)

If you don't have a stamping tool, it's easy to do with a craft mat and ruler too. Simply align your card with the grid of your mat and make a faint pencil mark as your stamping guide.

Next up is a Banksy inspired card ...

Initially I had a grungy look in mind, but going with the flow an almost CAS look suited my messy watercoloured tree better.

Given that white embossing looks best on coloured background, I decided to colour outside the lines for maximum impact before fuzzy cutting my tree. You can go rather messy with the colouring, it will be much neater once the tree has been cut out.

I popped it up on foam pads and added it to my stencilled background, stamped my sentiment and finished off with small gems.

Brick Wall, one of Helen's new stencils due to be released next week, was stencilled using Smoked Paprika Prism ink.

Sparkling Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends!

Welcome to the first Tuesday in December and the start of a new TAGplorations Challenge over at STAMPlorations.

The theme for November is: All About Christmas

The optional twist is: to use Glitter

Well, as you can see, I've gone all out for the optional twist of glitter.

I heat embossed this cute tree with sparkling silver embossing powder, filled in the image with glue and sprinkled with glitter.

The CAS look really helps the glitter shine.

If you love tags, why not give it a go and play along? Your project can be anything as long as it features a tag. You can enter as many projects as you want, but one per blog post please, and you don't have to use STAMPlorations products, yet we'd be thrilled if you would.
