Hi Crafty Friends!

It's a bit early for April Showers ... but hey ho, with all the rain we're having in the UK, I thought it was fitting nevertheless.

My card started out with a strip of designer paper which was left over from the back cover of a journal, which I posted about earlier this week, and a coloured base card found stacked somewhere on my desk.

Next I needed a large-ish words/script stamp for the background and some splatters for added texture before rooting through my stamp collection to find a girl with an umbrella just the right size to fit the card.

She was coloured with metallic pencils for a soft look. The chevrons were stamped to ground her.

After the sentiment was stamped it became obvious that the background needed a little tweaking ... and the sun was added before finishing off with a little matching sequin.

Gift Set 3

Hi Crafty Friends!

Well, Saturday has come 'round quick. The weeks simply fly past right now, anyone else feeling this way?

I got another 5 little cards for you in a simple gift set, here it is ...

These are very easy one-layer cards with an artsy feel ...

... a single flower in combination with a striking sentiment.

All the stamps used are by Crafty Roo Designs, a small English company who are sadly no longer trading.

You could easily capture the simplicity of these cards using a large sentiment in combination with a floral stamp from your stash.

A few splatters and gems will finish your cards off.

Gift Set 2

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's time to share another gift set as in 'one I made earlier but haven't posted about'. It consists of 5 10x10cm cards with envelopes in a little gift box

Here they are ...

All of them are one-layer and they were presented nicely tied with a bow.

They're basically stamped and coloured with a bit of stencilling on the envelope.

Most of the stamps used were by Crafty Roo Designs who are sadly no longer trading. The tiny stars stamped around the circle in the above card is a mini stamp by Lavinia Stamps.

The stencil, Confetti #1, and the script stamp used in the background of the first card are both from STAMPlorations.

The circle is a Media Plate by John Next Door.

Doodling and gems finished the cards off.

Gift Set 1

Hi Crafty Friends!

Just sharing a little gift set of small cards I made.

 
Just simple stamping and a touch of colouring on the last card shown.

The script background stamp is from a Happy Little Stampers set. All the other stamps are by Crafty Roo Designs. 

These are all stamps I've had for a while and I still like using them. Sadly both companies are no longer trading.

The snowflake dies are from Memorybox and the texture plate for embossing the box lid by Sizzix.

Hope you enjoyed my little trip down memory lane. I shall be back tomorrow with a couple of cards showcasing some new STAMPlorations products.See you then.

Pastel Dots - Advent Calendar Day 24

Hi Crafty Friends!

Day 24 and a few more surprises, the little flower and the dot are two of them ...

The dot was stamped with Periwinkle, Pink Jellybean and Apple Green Prism inks. For movement and interest, the flower heads were stamped randomly to include bits of the coloured dots.

Sentiment and gem finished my card off.

Being Different - Advent Calendar Day 22

Hi Crafty Friends!

Day 22 and another little stamp popped up. Not sure exactly what is is meat to be, but it's certainly a good one for adding a splash off colour ... as you can see ...

I'm sure in the fullness of time I'll find other uses for it too. Simply stamped, coloured with brush markers and finished off with a couple of gems ... that's today's card.

Hi Crafty Friends!

Day 21 and another floral surprise which I turned into the card below ...

I used some Color Box cat eye pigment ink pads for the background by using them as stamps. Literally had them for ages hence the colours have a nice pastel-y look. Picked Raspberry DI for splatters, a stamped sentiment, gems and doodled border finished my card off

Day 20's surprise was the little flower ...

... which I used to stamp my border. It would make a lovely background pattern too.

The flowers were coloured with marker pens and my 10 cm x 10 cm card was finished off with a bold sentiment.

Be Wild - Advent Calendar Day 17

Hi Crafty Friends!

Day 17 and the mischief continues.Tinker The Cat and Mr Mouse are still chasing each other ...

and making quite a bit of a mess in the process. Today's surprise was a stamp with three lines which I turned into wonky shelving for Mr Mouse to sit on and hide for a while.

Chasing Dreams - Advent Calendar Day 16

Hi Crafty Friends!

Day 16 and Tinker The Cat's adventures continue with the little mouse being today's surprise ...

It really tickled me when I saw the mouse stamp and remembered that somewhere in my Roo stash was a sentiment stamps about going for your dreams. This little card was the result.

It's one-layer involving a bit of masking to stamp Tinker The Cat, shading using a pencil and minor doodles for the straight line, a ruler did help, and the paw.

I liked the sketchy look to underline the humour leaving it up to you to decide who is chasing who ...

Catty Hugs - Advent Calendar Day 15

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's Day 15 and this little catty was hidden behind the door of my Advent Calendar ... certainly my favourite stamp so far ...

I'm just loving this little cutie and ,of course in memory of my little tinker, he had to be coloured black.

For the background I partially inked up one of my small poly plates and added some stamping using stamps of my other Advent Calendar stamps. I finished off with a touch of glitter and sentiment.

It All Makes Sense -Advent Calendar Day 14

Hi Crafty Friends!

Day 14's make features a scattered leaves border ...

Today it was time for opening another envelope in addition to the Advent Calendar door which meant there were several stamps to be surprised by.

I picked the solid one to go with the leaf and sentiment for my card. A bit of random stamping, a few gems and my card was finished.

It's Day 13 of my Advent Calendar Challenge and today's surprise was this little leaf stamp. Here is what I made with it ...

I had to be quick today hence I went for a simple design involving repeat stamping in different colours finished off with a sentiment and sequins.

The Bright Side - Advent Calendar Day 12

Hi Crafty Friends!

Another day ... another surprise ...for Day 12 it was a little circle stamp, perfect for backgrounds. Have a look how I used it in today's card.

I combined it with the small acorns from yesterday's surprise and a Roo sentiment from my stash. A selection of sequins finished my little 10 x 10 cm card off.

It's Day 11 of my Advent Calendar challenge ... and behind today's door were two little acorns the larger of which I used in today's card ...

It's also a bit of a variation on yesterday's card with a slightly different sentiment. Again I'm sticking to the 10 cm x 10 cm size in the hope to get another set of 5.

Almost forgotten to post today's card. I got sidetracked after dusting off my knitting needles. 😂😂 Well, I did manage to make a card though ... have a look ...

This little leaf was behind today's door. I paired it with a sentiment made up from two different sets. A bit of watercolour, splatters and gem finished my card off.
