A Blooming Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. The theme for this month is SPRING hence I decided to work with the Spring Flower Layering Dies and combined it with a stamped frame and sentiment from the Fluttery set.

I cut the Spring Flower from my card front, added an extra layer to it and adhered it to the inside of my card to align with the aperture in my card front.

I kept my colour scheme pretty minimalist, but you can of course add more colour by inlaying the petals with a contrasting colour.

Something new, something old .... Again, I've taken some of the new digi stamps for a test run this month I used one of the Coffee And Roses digis, resized and printed it before cutting the tag. My printer card is rather thin hence I layered it on another tag cut from recycled packaging card Shery used for my last order. I combined it with a bit of recycled tissue paper from packaging used in the little local boutique to wrap the new dress I got from Nick. Have a look ....

It is Wednesday and time for a new challenger over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives. Our guest designer for the next fortnight is Nisha, you can check out her fabulous creations on here on Nisha's blog.

My DT project for the new challenge is ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #109 it's Anything Goes with the optional twist of 'one-layer'. Lots of scope there!

#109 Anything Goes with the optional twist of ONE-LAYER

I love making one-layer cards. They are easy to post and can be quick to make whilst still adding depth and interest. My wedge shaped sponged panel does just that.

I could have blended the white lines left by the masking in either using a pale grey alcohol marker or simply by adding colour using a watercolour brush, but sometimes I do like to leave them. They add like a bit of shadow to give more depth especially when they appear only in places.

Happy Everything, Chickie!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. The theme for this month is SPRING hence I decided to work with the Fowl Play stamp set and combined it with the Happy Everything Phrase Die and the Crisscrossed Stencil for today's card.

I just love playing with these chicks and have them milling round a large sentiment. First I decided on my layout, stamped and masked the chicks, brushed a bit of ink through my stencil, added the sentiments and finished off with a bit of colour on the wings ... a perfect Spring themed card!

Fowl Play, Happy Everything Phrase Die, Crisscrossed Stencil

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. The theme for this month is SPRING hence I decided to work with the Framed Cherry Blossom stamp and combined it with a sentiment from Bloom Happy.

I tried taking a leaf out of Shery's book and used one of the splatter sets from the Art Marks set to add colour to my stamped image. I finished off with a stamped sentiment and a couple of embossed lines in the top right hand and the bottom left hand corners. The top ones sadly aren't visible in the photo even when zooming in.

More Celebrations Of Spring

Again I used one of the soon to be release digi stamps which I resized to fit the image from the One Cool Chick set. My colour scheme was inspired by bright purple crocus against the fresh greens of Spring. What else is there to be said ... a bit of masking, sponging, colouring and stamping finished off with a die-cut sentiment and sequins was all that was needed for my mixed media card.
