May Theme & Photo Prompt

Hi Friends!

It's time for a new lot monthly challenges over at STAMPlorations are back. Here is my DT piece for May's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge over on their blog.

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Wings and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

I have gone for taking inspirations from both the theme and the photo, stamped feathers and sheet music for the background and wings for the die-cut bird.

Placid stencil with Aurore, Cerise and Mer Du Sud Izink inks for the stencilling, the feathers were stamped with Weathered Wood Distress Oxide and the sheet music with Elegant Eggplant SU ink.

As for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge prizes:
One winner of a $20 gift code will be picked by one member of our DT.
Plus 3 randomly drawn winners will each receive a $7 gift code.

In order to be considered for a prize, make sure you've followed the rules here.

March Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge

Hi Friends!

After a short break the monthly challenges over at STAMPlorations are back. Here is my DT piece for March's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge over on their blog.

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Numbers and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

I've taken some inspiration from the photo for my colours and yogurt turned into ice cream. There is also a little bit of fruit in my card in form of the cherry. Rather than making numbers a big theme in my card, I added them in my collage stamped background.

You might have spotted some elements from the new Art Marks 3 set in my background. It is still on pre-order until March 5 as part of a bundle with Life is Sweeter and Super Hero at 50% off, check out the details here.

As for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge prizes:
One winner of a $20 gift code will be picked by one member of our DT.
Plus 3 randomly drawn winners will each receive a $7 gift code.

In order to be considered for a prize, make sure you've followed the rules here.

More Layered Lights

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  For today's project, I thought I'd share one last Christmas card ...

It's got a slightly grungy background mainly because I had to disguise a smudge. I sponged the dotty Christmas Tree to create my bubble border, added a bit of musical stamping and some spritzing before adding the sentiment and my lightly shaped lights. The sequins add a little bit of sparkle.

Just giving you a little heads up, STAMPlorations are having their last sale of the year and there are still a few days left to bag yourself a bargain, for details feel free to check out the graphic at the end of my post.
You can check out all of STAMPlorations' current promotions here.

That's it from me for today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to join the fun.

Wishing you a Happy Christmas!

Seize The Day With Coffee

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. For my DT project, I made a coffee inspired card and went a little sticker crazy.

Here it is ...

I wanted to try out some of STAMPlorations stickers and used one of the Mixed Media Backgrounds #2 The sentiment sticker went on a piece of vellum which I attached behind the stamped and fuzzy cut frame. The rest was simply a bit of stamping. As you can see, the stickers work well on vellum. One can still see all the layers through it.

For more inspiration, pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out the fabulous projects my teamies made.

That's it from me for now. Have a lovely day!

Cup Of Tea

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations ... and what a special mile stone one it is ... it's their 200th Inspiration Post.

If that isn't worth celebrating, then I don't know what is. To mark the occasion, Shery will randomly draw one winner of a $20 coupon code from all the comments left on the STAMPlorations Blog and the Inspiration Team Designers' blogs.

I am certainly celebrating with a good brew and a good read hence my bookmark showcasing a set designed by Becca Cruger called Literary Caffeine-ations which I combined with stamps from the Mixed Media Grunge and Scribbly Splattery Grunge sets plus dies from the Tag O'Coffee and the Tags #1 Nesting Dies. Here it is, my DT piece ...

As you can see the colour scheme was somewhat inspired by the tea's colour, especially as I like mine dark with either no or very little milk depending on type. I used the red and white to liven it up with a couple of green sequins.

I went for grungy stamping which I added to the patterned paper tag, added an embossed sentiment, some die-cuts and finished off with white doodles.

My bookmark will be entered at:
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes, optional twist of watercolour (sorry didn't play it)
Crafter's Castle - Anything Goes, optional twist of fun technique (heat embossing for the sentiment)
Sisterhood Of Snarky Stampers - B is for Books

I am keeping it short and sweet today. For more inspiration and to comment on all the blog, pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog where you can find all the links and, of course, admire the fabulous pieces my teamies created..

Enjoy your day!

Thankful For You

Hello Crafty Friends!

The TAGplorations Challenges is saying HELLO November with the start of a new challenge. TAGplorations is a monthly challenge for projects featuring a tag or tags, each challenge follows a theme with an optional twist.

The theme for November is: All About Thanksgiving
The optional twist is: to use Polkadots

For my DT project, I picked up mainly on the yellow and orange of the pumpkins making sure that I was adding some dots somewhere along the lines whilst contemplating what or who I was thankful for ...

This one was pretty straight forward, die-cut tag sprinkled with brusho and spritzed with water.

Add a bit of dotty stamping and a torn piece of dotty paper, do a bit of blending with copper ink, stamp and emboss sentiment add doodles and finish off with watercoloured and fuzzy cut Calla Lilies, sequins and paper ribbon.

If you love tags, why not give it a go and play along? Your project can be anything as long as it features a tag. You can enter as many projects as you want, but one per blog post please, and you don't have to use STAMPlorations products, yet we'd be thrilled if you would. There are three free autumnal images perfect for a traditional Thanksgiving card to download here. Please check out the full revised challenge guidelines here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

One lucky winner, voted for by the DT, will win a $15 STAMPlorations gift certificate and 3 randomly picked players will win a $5 STAMPlorations gift certificate each.

Ready for more tagtastic inspiration? Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see the gorgeous projects my teamies created and, of course, to link up your tag project/s too.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week.

Hello Crafty Friends!

Well, I am back with an Inspiration project for STAMPlorations.

Today the cheeky Little Monsters came out to play ....

I think this purple monster is just adorable. Mainly watercoloured with a bit of stamping in the background, doodles and a sentiment from Noteworthy 4, this tag was quite a lot of fun to make.

I hope, it makes you smile!

Throughout August and September STAMPlorations are having 15% off on all stamps, stencils and dies in their on-line store on Tuesdays only, no coupon needed. This offer can be combined with my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA to give you an added 20% off taking the total discount to 35%, just saying ....
