CASE-ing Myself

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday, which means, it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week I want to sher two cards I made based on two recent Mixed Media projects.

First up is a B&W card based on an altered candle I made for yesterday's post here.

As you can see, I took the Peace Love & Joy sentiment with the stenciled Trees 1 and 'added' them to a white base card and finished off with a couple of debossed scored lines.

 

For my next card I took inspiration from a tag I made as my DT project for STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge. You can find it in my post here.

As you can see, the stenciled trees became white embossed Leaves 1, the ornamental bracket became a Curly Labels/Tags Nesting Dies frame, the shiny stars turned into a heart charm tied on with some twine while the sleigh and sentiment stayed pretty much the same.

December Mixed Media Challenge

Hello, Crafty Friends!

It's Sunday 3rd December today which means, it's the start of a new Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. As you know Anything Mixed Media Goes as long as it is not a card and you use at least one stencil.

My DT contribution for December is ... a Christmas tag ....

As you may have already noticed, I am not one for using traditional colours this year. Turquoise and purple seems to be my favourite combination.

I cut the largest Manila Tags Nesting Dies twice once from plum card and once from a piece of brusho coloured card before edging the latter using one of the ATC/Tag Builder Dies. I used white paste through the Trees 1 stencil for a wintery look, added some washi, die-cut sleigh and sentiment before finishing off with tiny stars, a little gold edging, Stickles and fibers.

I hope you feel inspired to dig into your crafty resourcefulness and create something to enjoy  .... why not link it up with the Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. The theme for the Mixed Media Challenge is always Anything Mixed Media Goes except cards which means projects such as tags, ATCs, canvases, layouts, art journal pages etc, are perfect for entering, and you must have used at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. November Stencil Sunday Post

Hello, Crafty Friends!

Welcome to November's Stencil Sunday over at STAMPlorations. May I take the opportunity to remind you of their current Mixed Media Challenge. As you know Anything Mixed Media Goes as long as it is not a card and you use at least one stencil.

My DT contribution for this Stencil Sunday is ... a Christmas tag

If it wasn't for drying time, this tag is actually quite quick to make: attach pieces of newsprint paper to tag, paste through the Oh, My Stars! stencils, watercolour, spritz with Gold, Purple and White Artiste Spritzing Inks, add glitter glue, add sentiment, die-cut and add Christmas Angel and finish off with little stars and ribbon.

I did die-cut the angel several times from white card and once from starry mulberrypaper and layered them all up.
