New Beginnings

It felt rather spring like in the UK yesterday when I was getting my post ready. Spring is always good for celebrating new beginnings. Have a look ...

Some of the stamps I had for a little while, they finally came out to play. I'm in the flow of making DL cards, maybe that's why as the long stamp with the circles is perfect for making them.

Bubble Winnings

Hi Friends!

Last week I was lucky and my name was pulled out of a hat which meant I won a stamp of my choice from Crafty Roo Designs. I chose the Circles Texture which went well with the Circles Poly Plate already part of my stash. Here is what I made ... 

Both, the texture stamp and poly plate, were used for my background. I simply added a flower, sentiment and sequins to finish.

All stamps by Crafty Roo Designs, Coastal Cabana SU ink as coloured ink, Stamp'n Write Markers: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Island Indigo.

Notecards 3

Hi Friends!

Another take on the rose notecards I posted earlier this week ...

This time I used stamped script and a die-cut scalloped stitched square for my background.

Script stamp is by Uniko Ltd, the die-cut square is part of a set of nesting dies from The Works and the rose dies are from a set by AlteNew which came with a magazine some time ago.

I added a stencilled frame for depth. The script stamp and flower are from sets by Uniko. The frame was stencilled using the Rectangles Flexi-Template by STAMPlorations.

Slimline Celebrations

Hi Friends!

Some new ARTplorations slimline stencils arrived through the post the other day. Plus I treated myself to a a few new makeup brushes, not for my face of course, but rather for use with the new stencils. 😁 I was lucky to get some double ended ones at Primarni* and went straight to work.

Here is today's project, my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog ...

Here in the UK the measurements for slimline cards are a little different, I had to adjust things a bit to our DL size cards. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to find any envelopes and postage could go through the roof too.

Bearing that in mind I cut a piece of white card, picked up my rubber mat and the Bloom Collage slimline stencil and run it through my Big Shot for embossing. Leaving the stencil in place, i picked up some SU inks (Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive) and started brushing to my heart's delight. To finish, all I needed to do was adding a die-cut sentiment and a little punched border.

Notecards 2

Hi Friends!

Something else I had in my stash for a while was this set of layered rose dies which came with a magazine. It's getting its first outing today ...

It was the perfect opportunity to use some of the smaller pieces of card from an old Color Coach by Stampin'Up! It didn't matter that the card was only coloured at the top and not fully through as I was blending the die-cut pieces with matching ink to make the colour contrast a little softer.

I popped the finished roses up on a stencilled and stamped background.

The rose dies are by AlteNew. For the background I used the Square Lots square stencil and stamps from the Mixed Media Elements and Art Marks set by STAMPlorations in combination with London Fog Memento ink

Make Your Soul Happy

Hi Friends!

A very quick card from me today spreading a bit of happiness ...

What makes your soul happy? Generally speaking, most of my life makes my soul happy. Yet when I get one of these arrrrrgh moments/days, it's crafting and connecting to nature, be it going for country/seaside walks or spending time in our garden. These are best for calming and balancing my mind and recharging my batteries. 

The sentiment used in today's card is by Crafty Roo Designs, all other stamps are from a set by Uniko Ltd. Inks used are Mauve Moments, Blackcurrant Jam and Purple Violet Prism inks and black Versafine ink.

Blue Dotty Birthday

Hi Friends!

Feeling a bit dotty today using some more stamps from February's Monthly Make Box by Crafty Roaa Designs. 

My blue and grey creation is simply stamped, the dots in blue and the surrounding circles in light grey to add a bit of depth. The grey framing has been repeated in the grey edging of my topper, all pretty straight forward.

Butterfly Thanks

Hi Friends!

More treasures from my craft space today ...

This butterfly had been sitting in a box for ages waiting to be used in a project. It was all coloured and ready to go. I simply combined it with a script background and die-cut sentiment (using negative die-cut).

The butterfly is by Indigo Blue, the script background by Uniko Ltd and the sentiment from a set called Skinny Sentiments Dies by STAMPlorations.

Live Life

Hi Friends!

Here is today's project, my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog ...

It's another balloon butterfly, one made using some left over bits from the balloon frame as explained im my tutorial here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

I popped it up against a stencilled background and finished off with a stamped sentiment and sequin.

Be You

Hi Friends!

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's Day yesterday ... and that you were spoilt rotten.

I shall be sharing two cards today in separate posts. First up is this DL card which i made as an entry for the DL card challenge over at the UK Stampers Forum FB group.

DL cards are slightly shorter than American Slimline Cards. Any taller and I'd be struggling to get an envelope to fit plus postage would go to a large letter size.

Floral and sentiment stamps are by Crafty Roo Designs and the Radial Slimline Stencil is by STAMPlorations. Inks used are Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise by Stampin'Up!.

Floral Birthday

A few days ago my February Monthly Make Box by Crafty Roo Designs arrived. Of course I had to have a play ...

The large floral birthday stamp takes center stage with the flowers being coloured using brush markers.

All the stamps used in today's card and a few more were in the box. I actually ended up making two cards, I'll share the second one next week.

Another Catty Birthday

Something cute again from me today ...

The cats had to come out again for another play. They were stamped with black Versafine and coloured using a mix of brush markers and Izink inks. The stencilled background adds extra interest and depth.

The cats are from a set which came with a magazine some time ago, the Dots All Over stencil is by STAMPlorations and the sentiment is from a set by Uniko Ltd.

Amazing Things

Hi Friends!

Here is today's project, my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog ...

 

I used the negative die-cut from the Bloomdala Bliss Felicity shape as my stencil and blended some Kitsch Flamingo and Twisted Citron DIs as my background for my double layered shape.

The sentiment is simply stamped in Wilted Violet DO and the card was finished off with a glittery dot.

Vellum Butterfly

Hi Friends!

Got a little vellum butterfly for you today ...

It's popped up on a little die-cut border and finished off with a stamped sentiment. The butterfly itself was heat embossed on vellum and watercoloured on the reverse for a stained glass look.

Sentiment and butterfly stamps are from sets by UnikoLtd and the Art Border #3 die is by STAMPlorations.
