STAMPlorations October Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge Reminder

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just a little bit more inspiration plus a little reminder that there is still time to pay over at STAMPlorations' Theme & Photo Prompt challenge.

Here is my card ...

The theme for their current challenge is Stamps & 3 Colours and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

I have taken 3 colours -pink, green and yellow (Cerise, Menthe and Aurore Izink inks)- from the photo. Some of the baskets and the flowers reminded me of cacti which gave me the inspiration to make my card.

I stamped the cacti from the Succulently set and watercoloured them with my chosen inks before fuzzy cutting and arranging them on my card.

As quick reminder of the prizes:
Two winners, one of a $15 gift certificate and one of a $10 gift certificate, will be picked by one member of our DT. This month it's Jane who has the honour to choose.

Thorny But Beautiful

Well, I am back with an Inspiration project for STAMPlorations.

I had a bit of a 'Gremlin Day' on Saturday. They certainly had moved into our computer and printer, not good, when you want to check in your flight and print out boarding passes. In the end a bit of alcohol did the trick of unblocking the printer nozzles, and the Ryanair check in had to wait until today as they wanted us to pay extra for what they call an 'early check in'. No mention of that when I checked out their website earlier this week ... or I just didn't find that little bit of small print ....

Cutting a long story short, we got it all sorted, but it provided the inspiration for today's card. I was just left with one question .... How do you make 'thorny' look beautiful? Maybe by injecting lots of colour?

Have a look, here is my piece of inspiration ....

I decided that brightly coloured cacti would look less menacing, dug out my Izink inks and got stamping. For added softness, I added a bright pink glittery border and a tiny flower. To finish, I simply stamped the bar code border in smokey gray Versafine.

A Fancactus Day & GIVEAWAY!

Well, I am back with an Inspiration project for STAMPlorations. I have been working with their current Stamp Club set Succulently which comes with a set of Coordinating Dies. A bit of watercolour spritzing, stamping, die-cutting, alcohol marker colouring and a few flower nail embellishments was all that was needed to create this card .....
