STAMPlorations March Release - Day 2

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's the second day of stamp release time over at STAMPlorations,...

... and it's the turn of Deepti's new set Life Is Sweeter.

These are my DT projects and just a couple of examples on how this set can be used ...

My first card uses the fruity stamps from the set against a stamped background using tomorrow's release set Art Marks 3. To make the fruit stand out more, I added some more yellow ink to the fruit using a damp waterbrush.

The second card uses some of the small floral stamps in combination with rainbow colours and a little gem to finish off.

Both my cards were stamped on light cream card which slightly mooted the colours, an effect I sometimes really like

The release is kicking off with Shirley's new set Super Hero

Super Hero

It's a really fun set for boy's cards and more. For my projects I stuck with the boys theme, here they are ...

Both were pretty straight forward to make. The super hero was fun to colour which I did with bold alcohol markers.

My first card uses the skyline as backdrop (stamped on white card and fyzzy cut) and a lightly cream card base slightly contrasting the white of the windows.

The second card uses a background sponged with Stormy Sky DI and the Rectangles Flexi-Template, lightly spritzed with water plus a bit of stamping from the new Art Marks 3 set.

International Women's Day 2021

Happy International Women's Day!

I went a little bit wild with my Caran d'Ache crayons and the Faces: Grace Stencil. I added a bit of stamping to the background and finished of with die-cut florals, leaves, sequins and gems.

Celebrate

Hi Friends!

Today I got a little square card for you as my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog. Here it is ...

At the moment I'm in the flow of using up some square cards blanks I've had for a while. One of them made the perfect base for my watercoloured flowers. I simply added a bit of stencilling to the background and finished off with sequins and stamped sentiment.

March Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge

Hi Friends!

After a short break the monthly challenges over at STAMPlorations are back. Here is my DT piece for March's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge over on their blog.

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Numbers and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

I've taken some inspiration from the photo for my colours and yogurt turned into ice cream. There is also a little bit of fruit in my card in form of the cherry. Rather than making numbers a big theme in my card, I added them in my collage stamped background.

You might have spotted some elements from the new Art Marks 3 set in my background. It is still on pre-order until March 5 as part of a bundle with Life is Sweeter and Super Hero at 50% off, check out the details here.

Super Skinny Slimline

Hi Friends!

Today I got a Super Skinny Slimline card for you as my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog. Here it is ...

I was playing with bits and bobs the other day when doing some scribbling on a small die-cut rectangle using my Crawford & Black colour brush pens. I used them flat on their side to scribble thinking it might give me a smooth blend ... instead it came out in this scribbled shaded pattern which I rather liked.

It was perfect for the single flower silhouette from Deepti's soon to be released Life Is Sweeter set which is part of a pre-order bundle, see more details below.

I matted it on a piece of black card and cut a Super Skinny Slimline card base which is only about 7cm (2 3/4 inches) wide to fit it on ... finishing off with a stamped sentiment and single gem.

A Soft Heart

Hi Friends!

There are some exciting new stamp sets due to be released over at STAMPlorations. I had the pleasure of playing with two of them for today's post. The first one is called Art Marks 3 and you can make this really cool card with it ...

I used some of the stamps from the Art Marks 3 set to stamp the background and hearts. Initially I thought of using it as a background for some die-cuts, but I really liked how it turned out and I simply added a sentiment, sequins and doodled border to finish.

Inks used were Aurore and Cire Izink inks for the background and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide for the hearts.

The second one is called Life Is Sweeter and I'm getting rather fruity with it ...

I used Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and and Twisted Citron, hint only, with the Circles Flexi-Template to blend my background for the gorgeous pineapple. Initially I was going to add some of the other fruits from the set too ... but then the pineapple doesn't look lonely to me. It's holding its space rather well.

The sentiment I used in my first card is from the Softly set and the circle template in my second card came from the Circles Flexi-Template ..
