You Make Me Smile

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  I thought I'd share another little card with a subtle stencil background ...

There are three main options for subtle stencilling on coloured card

  1. use a colour that is close to the colour of the card stock (I used Miel Izink ink on mine)
  2. use Versamark for the stencilling which gives a slightly darker tone than your card stock's colour
  3. go a little darker by using light grey ink, however one needs to be cautious when using grey on yellow card as the darker shade might have a hint of olive (black and yellow are used to mix olive green)

My image was coloured using markers and waterbrush.

Confetti Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is time to welcome June and the start of another round of challenges over at STAMPlorations. Here is my DT piece for this month's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge ...

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Confetti and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

As you probably already guessed most of my inspiration came from the theme with the stamped masks, heels and the green sequins and splatters giving a mod to the photo inspiration too.

I basically wanted to create a celebratory confetti mess. I sponged and blended my colours (Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo), spritzed with water and added the stamping and green splatters. The Birthday Word Art sticker was the perfect sentiment to complement the background. Gold and green sequins finished my card off.

As for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge prizes:
Two winners, one of a $15 gift certificate and one of a $10 gift certificate, will be picked by one member of our DT.
Plus 3 randomly drawn winners will each receive a $5 gift certificate.

In order to be considered for a prize, make sure you've followed the rules here.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out how my teamies interpreted the challenge theme and prompt and of course to join in the fun too.

That's it from me for now. Have a lovely day!

Spring Fling Reminder 2

Hello Crafty Friends! There is time to join the Spring celebrations over at STAMPlorations for their Spring Fling Event this month. My DT project for the reminder features their Bloom Peek-A-Boo Stencil in combination with their Big Hugs Phrase Die. Here it is ...

This card was made using the second print I took from the stencil after making my card with the spotlight stenciling feature for the original Spring Fling event post here.

I used cream card for a softer look and finished off my card by simply stamping the bar code, adding a die-cut sentiment and a couple of sequins.

Now a little bit more about the event:

It is a blog hop and linky party, which means you can hop along visiting all the participating designers' blogs. Please leave comments as you go along. Plus you can create a Spring themed project and link it up here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

Commenting and linking up both end on Sunday 31st May with the winners being announced on June 10 in the May Winners post on the STAMPlorations Blog.

Prizes randomly drawn from all the comments left on the STAMPlorations Blog's main post and participating designers' posts are:

- three winners of a $10 gift code
- two winners of Stamplorations product up to $10 value, winners choice

Prizes randomly drawn from all the linky party entries are:

- two winners of STAMPlorations product up to the value of $15, winners choice
- one winner of a $25 gift code

All throughout May all products in the Spring Fling Section are on offer at 15% off, no coupon needed.
Should you feel like browsing and placing an order, you can get an added 20% off when using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout. Please note that my discount code can not be combined with any other coupon code, but you can use it as often as you wish. I've got to be honest, if you use the code, I will get a little reward.

You can find more Spring inspiration on the second Reminder Post here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

That's it from me for today. Wishing you lots of fun playing and hopping along.

Happiness Is Everywhere

Hi Crafty Friends!

For today's card I have gone a little less grungy than yesterday's. Again I was playing with my round poly plate and ended up with some splatters that weren't supposed to be there ... at least in my mind, but then cards and projects often develop their own.

Have a look and see for yourself ...

I decided to only colour some of the flowers and stamp the other ones in grey into the background. This added more dimension and helped to highlight the sentiment too.

I'm keeping it short and sweet today. All the stamps and poly plate used are by Crafty Roos Designs, the link to their shop can be found in the list on my Favourite Suppliers page.

Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Finding Strength

Hi Crafty Friends!

For today's card I moved away from my more recent CAS style and gone rather grungy. I was playing with my round poly plate and ended up with some splatters that weren't supposed to be there ... at least in my mind, but then cards and projects often develop their own.

Have a look and see for yourself ...

I used the ploy plate with inks to stamp my background before stamping the flower, adding the doodles and some faint background word stamping. The large sentiment got snipped apart and edged in black ti fit the grungy look.

I'm keeping it short and sweet today. All the stamps and poly plate used are by Crafty Roos Designs, the link to their shop can be found in the list on my Favourite Suppliers page.

Wishing you a lovely weekend!
