Confetti Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is time to welcome June and the start of another round of challenges over at STAMPlorations. Here is my DT piece for this month's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge ...

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Confetti and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

As you probably already guessed most of my inspiration came from the theme with the stamped masks, heels and the green sequins and splatters giving a mod to the photo inspiration too.

I basically wanted to create a celebratory confetti mess. I sponged and blended my colours (Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo), spritzed with water and added the stamping and green splatters. The Birthday Word Art sticker was the perfect sentiment to complement the background. Gold and green sequins finished my card off.

As for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge prizes:

Continuing the Birthday Celebrations over st STAMPlorations and my B&W with a pop of colour scheme this week, I made another one-layer card for this week's Inspiration post DT project ...

I'm back using a splash of pink and these heels were perfect. I simply drew the line and stamped mt heels and sentiment.

Liking my card the way it turned out, I wondered what it might look like being really girly with a lit of bling. Here is the updated version ....

Girls Girls Girls

Hi All,

It's Tuesday and this means Inspiration time over at STAMPlorations. For my DT piece I made this card-in-a-box using Groovy Shoes with a little help from A Girl And Her Shoes as I decided to join the revival of this 3D card style with a little bit of Retro Fun.

I first made this style of card about 10 years ago, how time flies. It has since had a revival, and, inspired by Jackie at last night's craft club meeting, I had to give it another go.... shoes and box seemed to be a good combination.

There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube here on how to make this type of card hence I decided to simply focus on the stamping and colouring I did. The base was easy, I just used the shoes and randomly stamped them on pink card (regal rose) using Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant. Next I stamped my birthday sentiment in black and a couple of sentiments from the A Girl And Her Shoes set in Mambo and Eggplant before adding some flowers into the mix ...

I stamped, coloured and fuzzy cut my shoes and flowers (for the laced-up ones I used my gelli plate for mirror stamping), assembled the box and finished off with a little glitter from my sparkly gel pen and some faux stitching in black ...

CASEplorations July

Hi Everyone,

It's time to explore CASEing again in the STAMPlorations Inspiration CASE Playground. This month we are taking inspirations from a card  made by Tenia Nelson, who is part of the STAMPlorations Challenge Design Team. She made this funky new home card:

You can find her original post here on her blog Jazzy Paper Designs. Well I had a go at making two cards this month. First up is a card I made for Katie, a friend's daughter. She and her partner have just bought and moved into their first home!!!! ... a real achievement given that they are still in their mid twenties! When I looked through my sentiments deciding which one to use, it really tickled me thinking that Katie rather than buying lots of shoes would buy a house ...

... and I hunted through my stash to find these paint brush and paint pot papers, added a few stamped splashes using a stamp from the Holiday Artsy set and layered them on my chevron embossed base card (core-dinations). I stamped my house from the Houses set, fuzzy cut, layered and fuzzy cut again for the shadow, added the die-cut SOLD, a piece of Washi and my altered sentiment from the A Girl And Her Shoes set. As you can see I roughly kept the same layout, the one chevron became the chevron embossed base card. Here is another look ...

Next up is a card I made in advance for Nick's sister who is in the process of selling her house and buying a new one. It has a different slightly more patchwork like feel to it ...

... probably because I used rose patterned paper and stamped stitching from the Graphic Pentagons set on the Washi. I did pick the papers to reflect her mature age and the card reminds me of a mood board of her style. Instead of the chevron I used the heart from the Sentiment Builders: Love set. I kept with the stenciled YAY (ARTplorations Hello and Company stencil) and added A New Home which I made up from another two of STAMPlorations Sentiment Builders Christmas & New Year and Happy. This time I kept three of the rounded corners and a couple of sequins finished my card off perfectly.

Going Girlie

Hi Everybody,
thanks so much for your lovely comments.
I am back again with another piece of inspiration which is part of this Inspiration Post over at STAMPlorations.

I kept it easy this time round and worked with the dress from The Bee's Knees: Newlyweds, stamped it three times on a piece of white card masking as I went along and once on some pretty paper to paper piece one of the dresses. I then gold embossed my sentiment from A Girl And Her Shoes, die cut a scalloped border from red card and a flourish and leaves from orange card to match the pattern of the paper. I the layered everything as shown and added some glass glitter and gems to finish.

Happiness Is

Hi Everybody,
thanks for all your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.
For today's card, I've gone all Flower Power. It was mainly inspired by some lovely papers I bought in The Works on Tuesday, when I had ample time browsing whilst waiting for Nick.
As you can see I finally managed to catch up with these red boots on their travels ....

... think they might have had a stint at some fashion shows, hmmmm.
How to make this card:

1. cut a tag shape from white card stock, blend with some pink and yellow ink, stamp sentiment from City Girl in yellow and orange. Spritz with water to get some faded spots
2. stamp the boots from A Girl And Her Shoes directly onto your tag and colour using  Poppy red and Cardinal red Promarkers adding an outline using Cool Grey1 for added depth. Add some faux stitching in black.
3. heat emboss your sentiment in white on a strip of kraft card, add a strip of black punched border at the bottom and attach to your tag.
4. dry emboss a piece of white card using the ARTplorations Stencils: Oh My Stars! and leaving the stencil in place sponge some blue ink over part of it fading out towards the edges, add some faux stitching in brown and slightly distress the edges.
5. die cut some flower shapes from news print paper, scrunch up and layer adding a few pearls to the center.
6. die cut a swirly branch with leaves from matching green card
7. cut a piece of brightly coloured floral paper, slightly distress the edges, layer on your kraft base card and add a partial border to one corner
8. cut a length of white lace, layer all elements as shown and finish off by adding some pink mulberry flowers and pearls

Stamp Spotlight A Girl And Her Shoes

Welcome to Day 5 of the STAMPlorations Stamp Release Spotlight Blog Hop Week!!!

Today we, the STAMPlorations Girls and our guest designer Laura Bassen, are shining the spotlight on: A Girl and Her Shoes

As soon as I saw this set, I fell in love with the boots and felt I had to do something with a map. The question was, which colour to use for the boots.

I stamped them out to start, something I tend to do when I am not quite sure is to start anyway, and that's when it hit me, they had to be red! Well, what can I say, they simply started walking to create this card here, and then for today's card they arrived in TURKEY. God knows where they're now, I shall keep you posted once I caught up with them.
I used a shaped border die to cut my map, recycled from last year's diary, attached it to my base card, added my sentiment and fuzzy cut red boots, and the card was finished!
