Hi Friends!

I was moving things around in my craft space trying to sort some bits out when I came across the rose and thought it needed to be turned into a card ...

I combined it with the heart and sentiment from the Romantic Expressions 2 set, added a bit of colouring, some doodles and a confetti heart to finish.

Keeping it short and sweet today.

For my first card I used my little brushes to add a few touches of red and grey shading. I wanted to keep the colour scheme simple and add some depth through shading.

My second card is a bit more involved. I cut a little panel from the image and coloured the rest with my pencils. I thought it might be nice to do the reverse of the normal spotlight colouring and leave the panel uncoloured apart from the sentiment. I ended up colouring a few bits of the panel to add flow to my design and finished off with sequins and a thick embossed heart.

Cupcake Love

February's TAGplorations Challenge over at STAMPlorations is in full swing and there is still time to play along.

The theme for February is: All About Love

The optional twist is: to use Cupcakes

Well, as you can see, I'm 'playing' the optional twist ...

I used the rose stamp for my background, splattered with red watercolour. The hearts and cupcake were watercoloured and fuzzy cut, the rest are layered die-cuts and a piece of decorative tape.

Have you noticed that the Bloomdala Bliss die-cuts make perfect doilies?

It's Tuesday, and that means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This month we are following their 'Things With Wings' theme to celebrate Spring with a Blog Hop & Linky Party across all their challenges links to which can be found here.

For my DT piece, I went a bit wild with feathers and hearts ....

The original idea was to use the feathers to create wings for the heart, but it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. You can see what became of my original attempt in my Mixed Media Tutorial here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

I ended up changing the sentiment and simply randomly stamping the feathers instead. Add to it a bit of colour, splatters, sequins and doodles, and the card is finished.
