National Coffee Day

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's National Coffee Day over in the US hence I thought I'd treat you to a couple of makes as part of the STAMPlorations DT. STAMPlorations are one of the sponsors of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog hop to celebrate the day.

Here are my cards ...

The idea here was to make the light bulb glow with a bit of yellow sponging. I cut around the light bulb before peeling the sticker off, securing it to my card and stamping the beans.

Well, you might have noticed that my photo is different from that on the STAMPlorations blog. Late yesterday I decided to add one more sequin and take new photos.
The little bunny was roughly coloured with watercolour pencils and lightly shaped. The background was easily done by simply attaching one of the Mixed Media Background stickers to my kraft card base.

Over on the STAMPlorations blog you can find all the details about the hop, how to play along and prizes on offer plus the links to the other sponsors of the hop.

I shall leave you with one last look at my makes ...

Pop over to the STAMPlorations blog to find the link to the blog hop and join the fun.

Joy & Festive Christmas Release

Hello Crafty Friends!

STAMPlorations are releasing two new Christmas stamp sets and they are celebrating with a little blog hop over on their blog.

I was working with one of the sets called Joy. I really like the combination of solid and outline stamps that can be used either on their own or combined. Have a look at my cards ...

The first one was inspired by brightly coloured gingerbread. I randomly stamped the outline and small word stamps in bright colours to create my background.

For my next card, I pencil coloured the word Christmas using 3 shades of red.

For my last card, I simply arranged the outline word stamps and combined some of them with their solid counterpart.

Having one basic layout you can easily change the look by choosing different words to highlight.

Here are the two sets being released today ...

Two winners, one of a $15 gift code and one of a in-stock 4x6 Shery Russ Designs stamp set, will be randomly drawn from all the comments left on the STAMPlorations Blog and contributing designer's blogs. Commenting closes Tuesday 8th October and the winners will be announced in the September Winners post on 10th October.

More details and all the links can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

That's it from me for today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to join the hop and check out the beautiful cards my teamies made.

Have a lovely weekend!

A Little Book Cover

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.

I am sharing a cover for a little book I'm making ...

What can I say, I have taken a little break from CAS cards and started making a little mixed media book which I will fill with uplifting quotes.

I basically made the book in the dimensions to fit the CUTplorations Cover Plate Dies and the large one from the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies which I am planning to use for the inside pages. I shall share some of them over the next few weeks.

I used the Dragonfly Cover Plate Die for my front cover and layered it on a piece of Brusho coloured card. I is simply decorated with a bit of stamping and some die-cut flowers and shapes.

The layout of my front cover could easily be adapted to make a card.

Just giving you a little heads up, some of the STAMPLorations products I used in my project are on offer in their shop this month:
The Artsy Border Maker is one of the selected stamps on offer at 25% off with code TAKE25.
The Dragonfly Cover Plate Die, the Trendy Spring Blooms Dies and the Clustered Hearts Die like all their CUTplorations dies are on offer at 40% off using code DIES40.
You can check out all their current promotions here.

Again, I am keeping it short and sweet today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out the fabulous projects my teamies made.

That's it from me for now. Have a lovely day!

TMR 18th September - Use Embellishments

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is Wednesday and time for a new challenger over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives. Our guest designer for the next fortnight is Tenia Nelson, you can check out her fabulous creations on here on Tenia's blog.

My DT project for the new challenge is ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. The theme for challenge #120 is to use embellishments. Lots of scope there!

As you have probably already noticed, I don't tend to use many embellishments on my cards. My stand-by ones for masculine cards are eyelets which I decided to use on my card.

I used the catty Scratch Pad set in combination with the Shutters stencil all coloured with watercolour pencils. To finish I added some splatters and eyelets.

Fancy creating something for a male person in your life, pop over to The Male Room for more inspiration and to link up your masculine makes.

That's it from me for today
Have a lovely day!
