A Little More Coffee

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Roundup Time over at STAMPlorations.
I decided to take the opportunity to link up one more coffee themed card with the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop which finishes later today.

I stamped the Bloomin' Spring Coffee Basket on a die-cut piece of  ivory Centura Pearl card (Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies) and coloured the image using Promarkers. Next I die-cut my sentiment from kraft card using the Oh Frap! Phrase Die, added some stamping (Scribbly Splattery Grunge) to my kraft base card, layered as seen and finished off with a few sequins.

I am linking my card with:
Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. I shall be back on Sunday with some Mixed Media inspiration, until then ... have a lovely weekend!
hugs

Spring Hugs

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just a quick card today to send you all some hugs.

I took inspiration from several challenges, which I am going to enter.
CAS Colours & Sketches - challenge #216 sketch
Addicted To Stamps And More - challenge #235 photo inspiration
Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with HLS stamps

Using my MISTI, I stamped the butterfly in Tempting Turquoise and watercoloured over and around it before stamping it again with the same ink. Once dry I added some darker shading and splatters in Pacific Point. I stamped out the Hugs in Night Of Navy and fuzzy cut around it, die-cut the word spring, die-cut the butterfly, added some scored lines to my base card and layered everything as seen finishing off with sparkly doodles and gems.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely day!

I didn't stray very far into the past taking my inspiration from challenge #397.

Well, I picked up the Flutter Zen 2 Layering Die, which is fast becoming my favourite, the Artsy Borders: Cupcake Row and the Sketched: Simple Gift for my sentiment plus Coffee Archival, Strawberry Slush Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip inks to create this watercolour beauty.

Of course I am linking up with the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.

A Cup Of Tea

Hello Crafty Friends!

I'm back again with another make, one with a Spring feel, here it is ....

A little bit of masking goes a long way in this one-layer card.

I stamped and masked the tea cup, stamped the Daffodil row and sentiment, removed the mask and added a little watercolouring to finish.

Sending A Text

Hello Crafty Friends!

I had a little time today to play and decided to enter some challenges just for fun with this masculine make.

I went for a monochromatic look stamping the script and dots for the background in 2nd generation Basic Grey on my linen effect base card and the phone with a text sentiment in 1st generation on a piece of white card. I added a die-cut star frame from grey pearlescent card and a little punched heart from holographic card into the mix, fuzzy cut the phone and layered as seen.

I am entering my card at:

Less Is More - challenge #321 Frame

Spring Sunshine

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps designed by STAMPlorations owner Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'.

Inspired by a lovely sunny weekend at the caravan, I decided to work with the Framed Solitary Daffodil and the Hello Sunshine CUTplorations Phrase Die to create a card capturing the warmth of a Spring day.

We were staying out in the Cheshire countryside by the Shropshire Union Canal near Beeston. On our way there we saw lots of daffodils adorning the roadside with their cheerful yellow blooms.

I stamped the Framed Solitary Daffodil on a folded piece of Mixed Media card and watercoloured it using Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green and Tempting Turquoise inks, added some spritzing and finished off with a die-cut Hello Sunshine and a couple of sequins.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Shery under her label 'Shery Russ Designs'. All her sets will be reduced by 10% apart from the Big Greetings set which will be 20% off.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

Cupcake & Butterfly

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I am celebrating with the Sweeties from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. They are celebrating their 400th challenge, and they are celebrating big. The idea is to make a birthday card using one of their past challenges as inspiration.

I didn't stray very far into the past taking my inspiration from challenge #397.

I simply loved the chocolate butterflies or did it simply have to do with working with some of STAMPlorations' new dies? BTW STAMPlorations is one of the sponsors hence my GDT spot as part of the STAMP team.

Well, I picked up the Flutter Zen 2 Layering Die, the Sketched Cupcake and the A Snarky Birthday To You sets plus Coffee Archival, Strawberry Slush and Bermuda Bay inks to create this watercolour beauty.

If you fancy joining the celebrations, pop over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog for some more cupcake inspiration and to link up your make.

That's it from me for today. I shall be back in tomorrow with more of my makes.

Have a lovely week!

Spring Cuppa

Hello Crafty Friends!

Spring has firmly set in, and the coffee-loving cardmakers are celebrating with a blog hop/linky party.

I thought I'd join the party as part of STAMPlorations DT. Shery is one of the hop's sponsors and asked us, if we wanted to take part. All the DT's projects can be seen here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

Well, I am offering you two pieces of inspiration. First up is a slider-shaker using A Cup Of Roses, one of the new sets, and the large rose from the Blossom Overture set in combination with all thre of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

Here is briefly how it was made:

  • you basically cut a frame using the largest and smallest of the nesting dies for the top frame
  • cut another frame using the largest and the middle one of the nesting dies for the slider and spacer frame with the top cut away to form a U
  • cut a piece of acetate
  • cut a piece of card using the large nesting die for the backing and to stamp the cup of roses on.

  • colour the stamped image
  • stamp, colour and fuzzy cut the large rose
  • stamp the sentiment on the slider
  • add a tab to the slider and partially attach the rose
  • assemble card making sure to put foam tape and sequins/confetti/pearls between the cup of roses panel and the acetate
  • the slider and its frame sit between the acetate and the outer frame

Next up is another shaker card, this time a little gungy using sentiments from the Bloomin' Spring Coffee Basket in combination with the Coffee Cup Silhouette Die.

  • I picked a piece of card with a splodgy background and masked the area where I wanted the coffee cup shaker to go
  • next I picked my sentiments, used one to stamp the background and the other one to stamp on a strip of card
  • I die-cut the coffee cup from gold mirror card and wonkily assembled my shaker finishing off with some sequins
Here is another look at both cards.
