I did some simple stamping, added a die-cut and bling to finish ... easy, quick and no colouring. 😉

I did a little bit of mopping up of ink from my craft mat, a bit of stamping and stenciling, add in some doodles, colouring and fuzzy cutting and the tag was made.

I did a little mirror image stamping using my Gelli Plate, coloured my images with alcohol markers and finished off with a bit of Stitched Snow Hills in green.

Lost In The Right Direction

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Male Room challenge blog where the bi-weekly challenge is all about making projects for the men in our lives. Our Guest Designer this time 'round is Sonja. You can check out her wonderful makes on Sonja's blog here.

I've gone a little arty for my DT piece this week, here it is ...

Each challenge, of course, has a different theme. For challenge #82 we are looking for anything using watercolours. Lots of scope there!

#82 - 28th March - Watercolours

Well, I have to let you in on a little secret ... I am not good at colouring in. Initially I had this idea of doing something freehand using watercolours, but to no avail. I decided to go for a watercolour background instead.

I simply spritzed a piece of mixed media card with water, dropped some ready mixed cyan and yellow watercolour into it and allowed it to dry. The watercolour is Liquarel by Renesans, a Polish company I think, and I can buy it at ARTFIX, the little art supply shop in my local museum, the Williamson Art Gallery.

All that was left to do, was the stamping using stamps from the upcoming Wanderlust release at STAMPlorations, a spot of die-cutting and layering on my black base card.

... featuring Deepti's, aka Dee's Artsy Impressions, new set LIVE LOVE RIDE. I am sure this set will be well used, my youngest sister loves horses and a bunch of cards will soon be on their way to her.

I masked and stamped the horses with Coffee Archival ink and roughly coloured them with water soluble crayons before lightly brushing with water. The rest was a little more stamping, doodles, paper ribbon bow and some flat metal embellishments.

Eat Banana Cake

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'.

I decided to work with Deepti's Chikoo Goes Bananas, Smile and Blossom Sprays #2 stamp sets to create a postcard sure to raise a smile. Here it is ...

I just love this winking, cheeky little monkey! I needed to make a postcard for the swap over at the UK Stampers Forum Facebook Group, and Chikoo really fitted the bill.

It was pretty straight forward stamping and colouring, no embellishments as they would come off in the post given that the card is meant to be sent without envelope.

Of course, you could easily turn this into a conventional card front.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Deepti under her label 'Dee's Artsy Impressions'. All stamps, stencils and dies, except from the retiring category, are reduced by 10% in the STAMPlorations Shop. Spring & Faith Reminder

I thought it might be time for a little reminder that there is still time to play along at the March Challenge over at STAMPlorations, To keep your creative juices flowing, I made a tag using some of the same background I made for the ATCs from my post here ...

As you probably guessed, the challenge theme at STAMPlorations for this month is 'Spring And Faith'. You may remember that STAMPlorations currently have only one challenge to give Shery time to settle into a new routine having recently given birth to their second daughter Winter.

Here are the simple rules for the challenge:

• You may create any type of project -- cards (any style), mixed media, tags, layout, etc -- as long as it follows their theme

• STAMPlorations product is not required though they’d love to see it

• You may enter as many times as you want – as long as each project has its own blog post

• You must display the challenge graphic below + link back to the challenge page to qualify for the prizes

• You must comment on the entry before yours in the gallery – lets spread the love

• For an extra chance, comment on the challenge post and the designers’ blog posts throughout the month

You can see more clearly the Brusho print from the original background, I turned it into a feature. It looks a little like a signpost.

I masked it off before sponging the hills, and the Christmas Trees became arrows creating movement and direction to go with the stamped sentiment ...

... and I had to add an inlaid die-cut one as well. 😁

Some pearls and twine finished the tag off.
