Beautiful Dreamer

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.

My DT piece for this week is a set of cards using one of the Faces stencils called Dreamer ...

I used a couple of backgrounds I made for my tutorial here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

For my first card, I sponged the Dreamer face with Cassis Izink ink. I then masked the actual face and lightly blended using the cassis ink before adding some stamped stars and sentiment. I simply finished off with a doodled border and a couple of sequins.

For my second card, I used some Sparkle Medium with the stencil, stamped my sentiment and finished off by distressing one side of my topper only before layering on my base card.

Well, I am back with an Inspiration project for STAMPlorations.

For today's post I had a little play with the Butterfly Cover Plate Die and the Strong Women sentiments set to make this duo of cards  ....

I wanted to warm up for next week's release of a new cover plate die, nosy me has discovered that it's already in the shop.

I basically used my die-cut cover plate as a stencil, placed it on a matching white base card and spritzed with watercolour spray. The spritzed die-cut was layered on a blue base card after layering on a second plain die-cut, of course for more depth, and finished off with a stamped sentiment.

Because of the pastel colouring the white lines didn't show as well as I had hoped hence I simply added a plain white die-cut finishing off again with a sentiment.

Throughout the summer STAMPlorations are having 15% off on all stamps, stencils and dies in their on-line store on Tuesdays only, no coupon needed. Just a quick reminder that over at STAMPlorations they are having a Stencil Blog Hop to celebrate the release of new stencils by their new designer Sanna Lippert.

I feel very lucky to have been working with two of her fabulous designs, Leaves 1 and Trees 1 to make an artsy CAS Thank You card. Here it is:

I re-visited a technique I used in my Spotlight Project here on the STAMPlorations Blog. Instead of using die-cuts I simply used two of the cut out trees which were included with the Trees 1 stencil, layered them on top of each other and secured them in place with low tack tape before dry embossing.

The embossed Leaves 1 on the white background can be more easily seen by zooming in. I really love the subtle embossed effect you get when using stencils for dry embossing

I decided to work with the Dino Things and Strong Women sets to create this little chirpy card ...

I tried to create the impression of little dino being in the limelight with celebratory confetti raining down.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Becca under her label 'Big Grins By Becca Cruger'. It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by Becca under her label 'Big Grins By Becca Cruger'.

I decided to work with the Buttercups And Butterflies set with its coordinating dies and a sentiment from Strong Women to create today's project. Here it is ...

The Centura Pearl card I used as base adds a lovely subtle shimmer and contrasts well with the plain white card used for the buttercup. Here are the steps on how it was made:

• create a watercolour background with splatters on a die-cut piece of white Centura Pearl card
• stamp, colour and die-cut the buttercup
• die-cut 2 - 3 more of the buttercup shapes and layer them up with your coloured buttercup
• stamp sentiment in place
• add the buttercup topper
• layer on your base card and finish off with a touch of Stickles and a couple of matching sequins

Happy Women's Day 2017

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just a quick post from me today to wish you all a very Happy International Women's Day 2017!

Today I had some playtime doing some watercolour effect stamping with my MISTI.

First I started off by stamping the script (Mixed Media Elements, STAMPlorations) in Daffodil Delight and the Butterflies (Texture Butterflies, Kaisercraft) in Melon Mambo on a piece of Mixed Media card.
Next I did the watercolour effcet stamping of Ella Bella (Indigo Blue) similar to my video below using Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise.
Once dried I stamped Ella Bella again in Crushed Curry before adding my sentiment (Strong Women, STAMPlorations) and some fine splatters.

To finish I simply layered on a kraft base card.

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my treamies and I are showcasing stamps by Becca under her label 'Big Grins by Becca Cruger'.

I decided to work with the Dino Things and Strong Women sets to create a cute card with Washi plasters and humour. Here it is ...

Continuing with the Centura Pearl card theme, got quite a lot of it bought ages ago of course 😁, today's card was pretty straight forward:

• cut the small crazy stitched rectangle from ivory pearlised card
• stamp, colour and fuzzy cut this cute flying dinasour, as I like to refer to our wild 'pet' sparrows in the garden, using ivory pearlised card and Promarkers; seriously they are such good fun to watch at the feeder outside our back door
• stamp the Strong Women sentiment
• add Washi tape, layer up and add more plasters
• add button and sequins to finish
