Joy

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  Here is today's DT project ...

This week I am showcasing another one of Sanna's new stencils in combination with a sticker sentiment and a die-cut angel.

The Christmas Angel was die-cut from shrink plastic and heated to reduce its size. I decided to leave it transparent rather than adding a little colour before heating.

The sticker is on white card layered on glitter card to leave a narrow border. Keeping the stencilling to the center with a white border either side seemingly adds another layer.

The new STAMPlorations Store is fully open now, it's got an easy search facility. Why not pop over and have a little browse.

Should you find yourself placing an order, feel free to use my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout for a 20% discount on your order. Please note that my discount code can not be combined with any other coupon code, but you can use it as often as you wish. I've got to be honest, if you use the code and/or the link to the STAMPlorations Shop I provide in my posts for your purchases, I will get a little reward.

That's it from me for today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out my teamies' beautiful makes.

Hope you're having a lovely week!

Christmas Bauble

Hello Crafty Friends!

There are some new kids on the block over at STAMPlorations: Craftplorations MDF Shapes.

Today I'm introducing you to the new Christmas Bauble #1 shapes.  They are perfect for making your own decorations or to use as gift tags.

My project today could be used as either:

At approx. 3 inches wide, the baubles are a really good size. I decided to trace the shape on card and cover both sides of the bauble softening the edges with a sanding block.

I blended both sides with Daffodil Delight and allowed them to dry thoroughly.

After discovering that the small wreath from Sanna's new Christmas Wreaths stencil fitted the bauble perfectly, I sponged it on both sides of my bauble using Miel Izink ink.

Stamping the script from the Mixed Media Elements and lightly blending the edges with Miel ink added a little more interest to what was going to be my background.

Next I sized, printed and coloured the poinsettia from the Sketched Christmas Flower & Poinsettia Row digital stamp set, fuzzy cut the full flower and a second smaller layer and added them to the front of my bauble. I decided to turn the second layer to add more depth rather than have it align with the original image.

Gems and ribbon finished he bauble off perfectly.

TIP!: I find that when I premix my watercolours and then use a dryish brush to apply them, I am usually okay watercolouring inkjet printed digis. The trick is to have the brush as dry as possible to avoid wetting the printed lines too much.

I think it would be rather fun to decorate a few more of the baubles and turn them into some sort of festive Christmas bunting. This could look rather nice.

For your chance to win a set of Christmas Bauble #1 shapes, one Christmas Wreaths stencil and a set of the Sketched Christmas Flower & Poinsettia Row digital stamps, leave a comment on this blog post and the corresponding post on the STAMPlorations Blog by August 8.

Christmas In July

Hello Crafty Friends!

Well, what can I say? Nancy and I like the Christmas In The Air Feature so much that we were eager to continue over the Summer too.

Today I'm sharing a couple of projects made for July's Christmas In The Air feature over at STAMPlorations. In this special feature Nancy and I are sharing a couple of Christmas projects each.

My first card features the new Good Tidings Clear Stickers and my favourite snowman from the Yuletide Cheer Digital Stamps - set of 3. Here they are ... the jolly snowmen ...

My background was created using Turquoise, Purple and Ultra Marine Brusho crystals on photo paper/card. I started by sprinkling a bit of each colour on my photo paper/card and spritzed with water to activate the crystals. The purple looked a bit too dominant, and I added some Ultra Marine on top lightly misting until I got my desired effect.

Originally I had intended to use the background with the purple flecks toward the top, but after I had coloured and fuzzy cut the snowmen, I decided the purple flecks looked better towards the bottom.

I attached my elements in place added a doodled border and finished off with a sticker sentiment panel.

Next up is a card using one of Sanna's new stencils, Christmas Wreaths ...

My little eye shadow brushes came out again to play. I used them to blend the following inks through my stencil: Cerise and Grenadine Izink inks for the berries and Verveine, Menthe and Emeraude Izink inks for the leaves

I rounded the corners of my square base card and edged my card with a gold pen. To finish I added a gold edged sticker sentiment panel and a couple of golden pearls.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out the lovely projects my teamie Nancy made. The Christmas In The Air feature also doubles up as a mini blog hop. Shery will randomly draw one winner of a $15 gift code from all the comments left on the Christmas In The Air posts on the STAMPlorations Blog, on Nancy's blog and on my blog.

Should you find yourself placing an order, feel free to use my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout for a 20% discount on your order. Hopefully Nancy and I have inspired you to add to your 2020 Christmas stash.
Wishing you lots of fun hopping along.

Good Tidings

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  Here is today's DT project ...

This is my take on Christmas in July. Interestingly I didn't find it as difficult as normally ... hmmmmm ... makes me wonder, if the un-seasonally cold weather here in the UK had something to do with it.

I used one of Sanna's new stencils for the background. The pencil coloured image itself is a digi stamp and was printed directly on my basecard with the stencilling being done loosely around it.

The card got finished off with a bold sticker sentiment and a few gems.

A Floral Thanks

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  Here is today's DT project ...

I went with a floral theme again this week for my Thank You card.

Blossom Sprays#1 was coloured with a mix of watercolour and pencils before fuzzy cutting and popped up on a stamped background using stamps from the Mixed Media Elements and Art Marks stamp sets.

I added splatters with my using watered down ink. The same watered down ink I used for stamping the very realistic splatters too.

My card was finished off with a die-cut Skinny Sentiment.

Marigold Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  Here is today's DT project ...

I found the French Marigold among the stamps in STAMPlorations Digital Store (link at the end of this post) and had to make it the centre piece of my card.

It was simply coloured with pencils. The grey stencilling, stamped sentiment and doodled border finished my card off, best of all it's one-layer and easy to post.

Here is a closer look ...

A Keyring Charm

Hello Crafty Friends!

There are some new kids on the block over at STAMPlorations: Craftplorations MDF Shapes.

Today I'm introducing you to the new Mini Rectangle Tags.  These tags are perfect for mixed media projects, altering and for thinking outside the box.

Let me show you my 'thinking-out-of-the-box project', here is my keyring charm:

When I opened my pack of Mini Rectangle Tags, it contained 8 tags 2 of each of the 4 shapes below. They are a nice size and with a bit of imagination could be turned into pendants for charms. This is where my idea cam about.

0013-minirectangletags.png

I picked one and embossed one side with a mixture of embossing powder. I added a few layers to make it look like enamel.

I then added a coloured, die-cut leaf using a tiny bit of glue and added another couple of layers of clear embossing powder.

For the reverse I cut a piece of card to size, blended some ink, stamped my sentiment and added a couple of layers of clear embossing powder before attaching it. I did try and crack the embossing a bit for a more vintage look.

I edged my tag with a gold leaf pen and finished my keyring charm off by adding pearls using some linen twine
