Wonderful Life

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by Becca under her label 'Big Grins By Becca Cruger'.

I decided to work with Becca's set Wonderful Life to create an uplifting tag. Here it is ...

I die-cut the largest tag from the set and blended with Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo before stamping the sun in Melon Mambo and some of the smaller sentiments from the Wonderful Life set in Daffodil Delight to create my background.

Once dry, I stamped and heat embossed the large framed sentiment, stamped and watercoloured the rainbow and attached it with foam tape. To finish off, I added some doodles, sequin and ribbon.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by Becca under her label 'Big Grins By Becca Cruger'. All her sets will be on sale at 15% off until Monday 16th October, no coupon needed. You can get an extra 20% off by using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

Hello Deer

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am back with another make, this time it's a postcard based on the theme of geometric shapes.

I stamped the deer and coloured it with using a grey brush marker. I then added some outline shapes with a marker using the Prism stencil before adding some watercolour with markers and brush. I added some grey dots, some stamping, white gel pen highlights, a die-cut and stenciled sentiment and finished off with a slice of lime and a doodled border.

As it is a postcard which is meant to be sent 'naked' without envelope, I gave it a protective coat of Mod Podge.

I am entering my postcard at:

Typographia Christmas Release At STAMPlorations

Hello Crafty Friends!

STAMPlorations are celebrating their new Typographia Christmas Range with a Blog Hop today! Yay, more fun to be had!
These bold stamps make for Christmas cards with impact. I just LOVED combining them with dies. Here are my DT projects:

I simply white embossed the Joy To The World stamp, coloured with brush markers, die-cut the tag, doodles a border and added a die-cut Christmas Angel.

For my next card I silver embossed the Silent Night stamp, die-cut the Stitched Winter Landscape into the card front and sponged lightly with Soft Sky ink before piecing it all together again and stamping the star. I fed a piece of paper though the 'slot' to protect the rest of the card during sponging before adding a piece of card to the inside and filling in the bits.

For my last card I stamped the A Child Is Born stamp on a piece of white card, used some star nesting dies I had to die-cut the nested star, pieced it all together, coloured the center star and added rays using the same yellow brush marker.

Whilst I was working with Faith and Carols inspired stamps for today's projects, STAMPlorations Typographia Christmas range offers something for everyone. Check out the graphic below and you'll find sentiments such as Wishing You And Your Family A Blessed ChristmasIt's Christmas In The Heart that Puts Christmas In The AirWarm Christmas Greetings From Across The MilesBelieve In The Miracle Of Christmas and many more.

Fancy joining the celebrations??? Leave a comment and hop along to the STAMPlorations Blog for all the links to the participating designer's blogs. Commenting closes Monday 9th October and the winner, randomly drawn from all the comments left on all participating DT blog posts, of 3 Christams Typographia Stamps of her choice will be announced on or just after Tuesday 10th October. If you don't want to miss the announcement, feel free to follow the STAMPlorations Blog here.

I shall leave you with one last look at my finished projects ....

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week and Happy Hopping!

A Big Thanks!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Yay, we are back!! It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Shirley under her label 'The Bee's Knees'.

I decided to work with the Winged Things to create a CAS card. Here it is ...

I needed a quick Thank You card for the staff at the gym. This one was made really quickly by sponging the masked strip using Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay inks and stamping the smaller dragonfly randomly in Crushed Curry. I removed the mask, stamped the large dragonfly in black Versafine, die-cut the word 'thanks' and layered on my base card.

Originally I had intended to inlay the die-cut word and raise it slightly, but I rather liked the negative image and decided to leave it.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by our very own Shirley under her label 'The Bee's Knees'. All her sets will be reduced by 15% until Monday 9th October..

Of course Shery will still draw a winner of a $10 gift certificate at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

October Mixed Media Challenge

Hello, Crafty Friends!

Welcome back! Phew, time has flown by! Hope you all had a great Summer!
It's Sunday 1st October today which means, it's the start of a new Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. As you know Anything Mixed Media Goes as long as it is not a card and you use at least one stencil.

My DT contribution for October is ... a tag ....

Well, I did go to town on this one using some of STAMPlorations' new nesting dies in combination with other bits and bobs. I cut the second largest of the Manila Tag Dies, applied some Glitter Frosting Paste through the Peonies All Over Stencil, added some watercolour to the background and an Arty Border to create the background tag on which I layered the other elements. These were: half a die cut Curly Label from vellum, the birds on a branch, a Trendy Spring Flower, some fibers, gems and sentiment. I used a length of Washi tape to attach the Curly Label and double sided tape for the fibers.

Here is a closer look ...

I hope you feel inspired to dig into your crafty resourcefulness and create something to enjoy  .... why not link it up with the Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. The theme for the Mixed Media Challenge is always Anything Mixed Media Goes except cards which means projects such as tags, ATCs, canvases, layouts, art journal pages etc, are perfect for entering, and you must have used at least one stencil (any brand) in your project. The challenge will close at the end of the month. You can find the full challenge details plus more Mixed Media inspiration here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

Ooops, almost forgot to mention the prizes: one winner as chosen by the Mixed Media DT will receive a $10 gift certificate and two Top Picks will receive a $5 gift certificate each, all of course redeemable at the STAMPlorations Shop ... but that's not all ... if there are 25 or more entries one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive two standard sized stencils of their choice.

That's it from me for today. I shall be back soon with another project to share.

Have a lovely day!

hugs
