Retro Gratitude 3

Hi Crafty Friends.

I'm back with the 3rd instalment of showcasing the Retro Gratitude STAMPcuts by STAMPlorations.

Today's cards are about creating striking cards with ease which led me to combining the Retro Gratitude sentiments with journaling cards and ready made card fronts.

Have a look at the two examples I made...

My first card is all about colour for maximum impact. The dark chocolate colour of my base card and the pumpkin pie colour card used for matting beautifully complement and highlight both the colour of the journaling card used and the shadowing colours of the large sentiment.

I simply added a small stamped sentiment and matching sequins to finish off.

My next card was even more quickly made. I framed my chosen card front with matching and contrasting card for my base card, added the sentiment and finished off with sequins.

The beautiful leaf pattern provides the perfect backdrop for my large sentiment.

Summing up today's cards:

Striking cards don't always have to involve lots of work, a few carefully chosen pieces and colours can really make a difference.

Simplicity can stand out.

That's it from me for today. Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Hugs
Monika 💕

May Challenge over at STAMPlorations

 Hi Crafty Friends!

It's May already! Where has the time gone?

Anyway, May is here and this means it is also the start of a new Anything Goes Challenge over at STAMPlorations. My DT piece showcases a couple of stencils available in the STAMPlorations Store. Here it is ...

I decided to use the Circles Flexi-Template and the Bloom Collage Slimline Stencil to create my focal image. For inspiration on using the Flexi-Templates to create frames, check out my photo tutorial post here.

Daffodil Delight was used for the background and frame. I then aligned the largest blossom from the Bloom Collage stencil and blended the flower with Melon Mambo and Framboise inks before adding contrasting touches in Emeraude.

The card was finished off with a stamped sentiment from the Thank You Coffee set and a few sequins to bring it all together.

Now it's over to you and, should you need a little tempting, there are 2 prizes up for grabs
- one $25 prize code, the winner will be chosen by one of us STAMPgirls from entries featuring STAMPlorations products as the main focal point
- two $10 prize code code, the winners will be chosen randomly from all entries including projects which don't feature STAMPlorations products
For a full explanation on prize codes and their Terms and Conditions click here.

There are some simple rules to follow. You can fund them here on the STAMPlorations Blog. Please make sure you read, understand and follow them before linking up your project to avoid being disqualified and have your entry removed.

That's it from me for today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out the projects my teamies prepared and, of course, to link up your own project to the challenge.

I am entering my card at:

A Latte Thanks

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just a little reminder that there is still time to play along at January's challenges over at STAMPlorations. Here is my remider DT piece for this month's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge ...

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Splatters and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

This time my inspiration came from the pinky colour and the cutlery, represented by the teaspoon. I started off by stamping the cup from Thank You Coffee to one side of my card. I decided to colour the flowers and teaspoon only using my metallic pencils. To finish I stamped my sentiment and one of the splatters from the Art Marks set and added a couple of sequins.

As for the prizes:
Two winners, one of a $15 gift certificate and one of a $10 gift certificate, will be picked by one member of our DT.
Plus 3 randomly drawn winners will each receive a $5 gift certificate.

In order to be considered for a prize, make sure you've followed the rules here.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out how my teamies interpreted the challenge theme and prompt and of course to join in the fun too.

That's it from me for now. Have a lovely day!

Adding A hint Of Colour

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  For today's card, I simply added a hint of colour ...

I've playing around with using the eye shadow applicator bushes again. this time I tried colouring a stamped image. I stamped the image in Bermuda Bay and used the brushes to add a touch of Melon mambo and Daffodil Delight to the lilies and a bit of Bermuda Bay to the leaves and some for grounding the stamped image. The colours are a bit stronger in real life than they are in the photo.

An even quicker way to add colour is by layering on a bold base card instead of colouring the image itself.

If you feel like bagging yourself a bargain and take advantage of STAMPlorations' Winter Sale, check out the graphic at the end of this post.
You can check out all of STAMPlorations' current promotions here.

That's it from me for today. Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out my teamies' beautiful makes and to join the fun of their 12 Days Of Christmas celebrations.

Wishing you a Happy Christmas!
