Heartful Of Thanks

Hello Crafty Friends!

Continuing the Birthday Celebrations over at STAMPlorations, I've chosen a more colourful theme for this week's Inspiration Post DT project, I made a little Thank You card to send to my niece in Germany who has asked us to save the date for her wedding next year. Here it is ...

I went for the heart chakra colours of green and pink and used the dots from the Layered Snowman set to stamp the dotty background. The heart was cut from various scraps of pink and layered with some more tiny hearts providing the embellishments.

As you can see, I am not much of a bokeh stamper, but I hope you get the idea.

STAMPlorations, Shery's little company, is celebrating its 6th birthday this month, and to mark the occasion Shery will draw 6 winners of a $25 gift code each from all the comments left on the Inspirations Posts on the STAMPlorations Blog and the participating designers' blogs, you can find the links for this week here.

STAMPlorations are also having a birthday sale throughout June. All the products in their shop's 6th Birthday section are on offer at 30% off, no coupon needed. The discount will be automatically applied at checkout. If you love a bargain, you can get an added 20% off by using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout.

CASEplorations April

Hi All,

Happy April! It is time for a new CASEplorations Challenge over at STAMPlorations. This month we are taking our inspiration from a card made by the amazing Donna Mikasa from Three Umbrellas. Here is Donna's card ...

... blogged about in her post here. So what's the inspiration we can take from Donna's card ... CAS design, watercolours, white on black sentiment, splatters, die-cuts, feathers ... to name the obvious. I think you'd be able to find lots more.

Here is what inspired me:
  • bright colours
  • white on black sentiment
  • splatters
  • focal colours above sentiment whilst overall focal element extends to below the sentiment
  • 5 feathers became 5 roses
... and here is my card ...

I decided to work with the Rosebuds and Bloom Sketches sets. I stamped the single rose 5 times, added brightly coloured acetate circles using matching brads, spritzed some ink and finished off with a white on black embossed sentiment.

Hope this inspired you to create your own take on Donna's card. You can link up your makes here on the STAMPlorations Blog. This is also where you can find more inspiration on how to CASE Donna's card, courtesy of my teamies of course.

I would like to enter my card at:

Here is another look at my card in a different light ...

This is it from me for today. Have a lovely weekend!

Birthday Girl

Hi Everybody,

Just a quick post today featuring a card with a monochrome colour scheme. I decided to work with the Rosebuds set and combined it with a sentiment from Party Time one of this months new sets ...

I don't do this look often, but I really felt like some simple elegance. I stamped and masked the roses and used the stamp with the definition of rosebud to create my background using smoky slate (SU ink) wiping bits of the ink away as I went along. Next I did a little blending and adding of gel glittery highlights to the buds before layering on my black base card and finishing off with my white embossed sentiment.

For the inside, I stamped the roses and slightly blended the edges of my card with smoky slate.

Next up just a quick reminder ...

... details about the birthday bash can be found here.

As always there is fun to be had before that too, you can CASE any of my/our cards and link up at the Inspiration CASE Playground, short playground, to share your creation with us, enter in the blog challenges, comment on Spotlight Projects and more is already happening over at the STAMPlorations Blog.

GIVE AWAY reminder: I will email a copy of my digi stamp, the sentiment of the butterfly card here, to every new follower of my blog. Anyone who joins between now and 10th July 2015 will get one.
