Doodled Lights

Hi Friends!

Just a quick post today sharing my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog ...

I was playing with one of the trees from the Winter Village stamp set trying to stamp a wreath. It didn't quite work out the way I had envisaged hence it was turned into a background for my baubles. The sentiment is from the Layered Holly set, and my card was finished off with gems, stars and doodles.

Here are the STAMPlorations products I used in today's card:

Shimmery Bauble

Hi Friends!

Just a quick post today sharing my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog ...

Christmas cards are perfect for adding a bit of shimmer. It's about the only time of year I use mirri card for die-cutting.

Going all out for shimmer, my background was created using Violet and Sea Green Brusho powders with some Iridescent Gold SprinkleIT. It does rather sparkle, but sadly one can't really see it on the photos.

My sentiment was stamped with Elegant Eggplant SU ink.

Christmas Doodles

Hi Friends!

Just a quick post today sharing my DT piece for the Inspiration Post over on the STAMPlorations blog ...

I am really loving the doodled look of Shirley's Layered Holly set. It's perfect for those quick and artsy one-layer cards. The holly and sentiment are simply stamped with a darker edge around the solid shapes. Both were tied together with a doodled border.

Christmas Inspiration

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. This week my teamies and I are showcasing stamps by our very own Shirley under her label 'The Bee's Knees'.

I decided to work with the Layered Holly and little bit of help from the Christmas Blessings Phrase Die and the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies to create today's inspiration piece. Here it is ...

I had this idea of a non-traditional card with pink holly berries and a pigment powder background hence I started off sprinkling some infusion powders on a piece of white card and spritzed them with water.

Once dry, I stamped the holly leaves, heat embossed the berries and stamped an outline in bright pink. For the frame I simply used the smallest of the nesting dies and cut out the inside with my ruler and craft knife. All that was left to add was the sentiment and a couple of bright pink metal dots.

As mentioned earlier, this week we are showcasing stamps designed by our very own Shirley under her label 'The Bee's Knees'. All her sets will be reduced by 10% from today, 2nd October, until Monday 8th October 2018, no coupon needed. If you fancy an added 20% off, feel free to use my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout when shopping for STAMPlorations Stamps, Dies and Stencils.

Of course Shery will still draw a winner at random from all the comments left on this month's Inspiration Posts over on the STAMPlorations Blog. Pop over to see what my teamies created and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw.

That's it from me for today. Have a lovely week!

STAMPlorations Stamp Release Day 3

Hello Crafty Friends!

Welcome to Day 3 of the new stamp release Blog Hop over at STAMPlorations. They are introducing a new set of Layering Stamps designed by Shirley under her label The Bee's Knees. Today my teamies and I are showcasing Layered Holly, a set of solid and outline stamps in Shirley's loose and sloshed style perfect for those artsy Christmas cards. Here is my DT piece ...

Well, I had to dip into my pigment powders again, this time I ended up using Brilliant Red and Emerald Green Brusho. The leaves and berries were inked, spritzed with water and stamped. Outlines and sentiment were gold embossed.

I really like how the brusho background adds interest to the stamped leaves whilst the water spritzing does the same for the berries. I had inked the leaves with a slightly darker green around the outside, but it doesn't really show, maybe there was not enough contrast between the greens.

Back to the hop, there are three sets in this release, and I had much fun playing with them. Here they are:
