Celebrating STAMPlorations 4th Birthday!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am back again with two more cards as my DT contribution to the STAMPlorations Birthday Celebrations. Both of them are very CAS and along the lines of a two in one.

First up is a super adorable shaker card ...

... made using the new Gift Builder #2 CUTplorations Dies in combination with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies and a sentiment from the Celebrate Artsy set.

I simply cut the solid gift from the white card, backed it with acetate and layered the pink die-cuts on top.

My next card uses the pink circle shape and the 'left overs' from die-cutting the pink bits for my first card ...

... for more definition, I stamped the Zinnia - large on the square piece of the gift, added a white bow and a shadow layered Congrats sentiment.

What can I say about the new release? It's amazing, I absolutely LOVE the dies and Floral Sprays stamps. There are some pretty cool word dies and stamps too, one of my favourites is 'Prosit'. You can check them out in the shop here

June Stencil Sunday

Hello, Crafty Friends!

Welcome to another Stencil Sunday in June. My I take the opportunity to remind you of the current Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. As you know Anything Mixed Media Goes as long as it is not a card and you use at least one stencil.

My DT contribution for this Stencil Sunday is ... a tag with a vintage feel ...

I started off with a Gelli Plate print from a while ago. As I had used the Bubbles stencil at the time, i decided to dry emboss the die-cut tag using the same stencil for added texture. I then played around with Distress Oxides on the tag and swirl before adding some shading using golden copper decorating chalks and black Versafine stamping with stamps from the Mixed Media Grunge set. I stamped the large Zinnia on newspaper print paper, fuzzy cut and sponged it with Old Paper DI. At this point I also blended the tag's edges with the same ink.
I added a doodled border, attached the swirl, added some rub-on sentiments and star,, set the floral eyelet and attached my flower before finishing off with sequins and ribbon.

I hope you feel inspired to create something different, maybe even do some up-cycling or re-purposing .... why not link it up with the Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations. The theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes except cards which means projects such as tags, ATCs, canvases, layouts, art journal pages etc,are perfect for entering, and you must have used at least one stencil (any brand) in your project.
