Wishing You Well

Hello Crafty Friends!

Just sharing the first card I made using the Vignette: Tree Silhouettes with the Just Flow ARTplorations Stencil as my Inspiration Round-up project for STAMPlorations.

As you can see, simply changing the colours and the way the trees are stamped gives this card a completely different feel to the one I posted yesterday as my blog hop project.

The initial idea was to go for a landscape type of colouring hence the green and yellow simply sponged through the stencil. The trees and sentiment are stamped in black Versafine.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to see what my teamies created for you and to leave a comment for your entry into their prize draw. Whilst there, have a look around, there is always lots to see, learn and fun to be had.

That's it from me for now, I shall be back in an hour with the second helping for the STAMPlorations January Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop.

See you shortly ...
hugs

December Stencil Hop Day 3

Hi All, welcome to Day 3 of the ARTplorations Stencil Blog Hop where we're celebrating all things stencil.

Here is my project ...

Something a little more CAS today using the Old Rose Prints ARTplorations Stencil with a sentiment from the Vignette Tree Silhouettes STAMPlorations stamp set.

I used a pierced rectangle die cut and sponged it using Crisp Cantaloupe ink to create my base colour before adding the roses with Calypso Coral. I stamped my sentiment, die cut a golden flourish, layered everything as seen and finished off by adding a few sequins.

For oodles of inspiration check out what the rest of the team made! You'll find links to all our projects here.

As with any blog hop simply leaving a comment on participating blogs can win you a prize, you can find all the links here. Commenting closes on Sunday 13th December and the winner will be announced on Tuesday 15th December.

Hold on, that's not all ... there is also a Stencil Linky Party running alongside the hop increasing your chances of winning a prize. It's all explained in the details below ...

Back To Basics

... or so I thought ;-D
Hello All!
It's time for me to post another Spotlight Feature over at STAMPlorations and as usual I share my projects here on my blog too.
Well, the new Stamp Club set called Mixed Media Grunge arrived in the post the other day. Luckily I was able to have a little playtime recording a video as I went along. My initial idea was to use some of my chalks with the swirly flourish stamp from the set. I cut my panels to size, stamped my image with watermark pigment ink, picked up some chalk and ... arrrgh ... it didn't work the way I wanted it to. All I ended up with was a coloured panel or two or three ... that's when plan B kicked in. I had wondered for some time how this technique might work with some old eye shadows I have ... out came the Clarins luxury ones, at least for me, I got some years ago. I couldn't bring myself to throw them out despite my eyes struggling with makeup. Well, what can I say, I found another use for them. See for yourself ...
Yes, in my first card I highlighted the watermark stamped images with eye shadow which I found a lot easier to use than chalks. For my second card I used the panels which I had coloured using my shimmery chalks. The image was then stamped with black VersaColor ink.
Full descriptions on how I made the cards can be found on the STAMPlorations Blog here where you can also leave a comment to win a prize.
That's it from me for today. I shall be back again tomorrow with another couple of projects for you, until then ... have a lovely day!

Wishing You Well

Hi Everybody,
thanks for all your lovely comments.
I am back again today with another easy project for you forming part of the Inspiration Post over at STAMPlorations.

I used the bouquet from the The Bee's Knees: Newlyweds Extras and a sentiment from the VIGNETTE: Tree Silhouettes. I simply die cut a circle from a piece of white card, spritzed it with turquoise and green inks, stamped the bouquet in Rose Red and the sentiment on a strip of card in Lost Lagoon, assembled as shown and finished off by rounding some corners and adding a tiny heart and some gems.

Next I got another card which I made as a Get Well Soon card for a friend. I was meant to pop it through the door yesterday on my way home from town .... and forgot ... hoping to do it tomorrow.

It is actually for her husband, he loves narrowboats. I am hoping that this will help cheer him up. I just simply stamped and coloured the narrowboat by Amanda Loverseed/Stamposaurus and combined it with a sentiment from the VIGNETTE: Trendy Feathers set by STAMPlorations. Given that the narrowboat is so detailed and I chose to colour it brightly, which is quite traditional, the card didn't really need any additional embellishments.

I would like to link this card to:
Bloggers/Splendiferous Creations - Travel Challenge
Stempelsonne - Anything Goes with stamp as main focus

Thanks for stopping by today.
Back again soon with more inspiration.
