CASEploration February

Hi Everybody,
Welcome to our new CASEploration feature, where each month we will showcase one card, it could be yours!, and explain what inspiration we took from it to create ours.
Our inspiration today comes from this cupcake card made by Julie Ebersole.

What stood out to me was how Julie's almost white cupcake stands out through subtle colour highlighting and the black splashes on the background. Given that Debra is our Cupcake Queen, I went straight for the Sugar Rush set. :-) I decided to blend some yellow and pink on a piece of white card before white embossing my ice cream image. Using a fineliner I added some black highlights to the cone similar to Julie's cupcake sleeve. Given the shape of my image, I felt it worked better having the sentiment banner (Sugar Rush and Chevron & Arrows) to the side. I added some black spray using a marker and colour spritzing tool, doodled a border and added some matt golden sequins and shimmery heart confetti to finish. I used the sequins instead of the golden twine, and it seems to work fine on my layout.
TIP!:Sometimes it's more about adding the colour rather than exactly what was used on the original card.

Pop Over to the STAMPlorations Blog for more inspiration on how to CASE this card.
I'm keeping this short and sweet as the library is about to close!
Back soon.
Have a lovely day!
hugs
