Christmas In The Air - November

Hi Crafty Friends!

Well, what can I say? The days are getting shorter around where I live, it's most certainly time to make some Christmas cards.

Today I'm sharing a couple of projects made for November's Christmas In The Air feature over at STAMPlorations. In this special feature Nancy and I are sharing a couple of Christmas projects each.

Both of today's cards are using backgrounds involving pigment powders to show off the new festive coffee themed stamp sets, Holiday Mocha Feels and Falalalalatte.

My first card uses both sets in combination with the Confetti #1 Slimline Stencil. Here it is ...

So how did it come together, probably easier than it looks. The speckled background was started off by sprinkling Golden Sands Infusion powder onto my craft mat, spritzing with water and mopping it up with a piece of card. I then added some stencilling (Confetti #1 Slimline Stencil) and stamping (Falalalalatte stamp set) using Thé Izink ink before blending around the edges.

Next I stamped around the edges by only inking up the floral spray from the large coffee cup stamp (Holiday Mocha Feels).

TIP!: Using part of a larger focal point stamp in the background creates a cohesive look and helps you get more out of your stamps.

My focal image was coloured with metallic pencils and the sentiment stamped with Roasted Coffee and Red Brick Prism inks.

My next card uses the Falalalalatte set in combination with a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiment Dies and one of the Bloomdala Bliss Festive Dies. Here it is ...

Inspiration for my card came from Christmas Markets and Mulled Wine or Glühwein as I would call it.

The background was created on photo paper/card using Violet and Sea green Brusho powder with a touch of Iridescent Gold SprinkleIT spritzed with water.

TIP!: Using photo paper/card give you this nice richly textured look and the colours keep more of their intensity once dried.

I really like how the purple seems to look like a Christmas Tree. The subtle shimmer is really pretty too.

Sadly, it was impossible to capture the shimmer on a good photo, but you'll be able to get a sense of it from the close-up below.

My image was coloured with a mix of watercolour, pencils and white gel pen, fuzzy cut and layered with a die-cut Bloomdala Bliss Festive shape. The sentiment was cut twice, once from Elegant Eggplant card and once from withe card before being layered. I finished my card off with some white stars from my stash.

A Coffee Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. Here is today's DT project ...

Just imagine it's Christmas morning, you're up early, making yourself a brew and slowly start to get Christmas dinner ready ...

I am in a mixed media look phase right now. The Coffee and Holly digi was printed, coloured with Promarkers and masked by painting over it with gloss finish Mod Podge before lightly sponging the background with Old Olive SU ink.

The holly pattern was sponged and the script stamped using the same ink. To finish off I added a die-cut sentiment and sequins.

Trimming The Tree

 Hello Crafty Friends!

Just a quick card today using up some of my pretty paper for the background.

It was rather a quick card to make using the Coffee and Holly digi by STAMPlorations which was coloured with metallic pencils and fuzzy cut.

Fa La La La Latte

 Hi Crafty Friends!

Welcome to my second post of the day. It's time for the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I am joining as part of the STAMPlorations team using two of their new festive coffee themed stamp sets.

First up is a card using the Holiday Mocha Feels set in combination with the Circles Flexi-Template, the Snowflakes stencil and a sentiment from the Fa La La La Latte set.

At 5 x 7 inches, this card is a bit larger than the ones I normally make. Contrasting the warmest greetings sentiment is the frosty background following the steps highlighted in the Christmas In The Air feature here on the STAMPlorations Blog finished off with the fa la la la latte sentiment stamped into the frame. The coffee cup image was coloured with Promarkers, woefully underused by me in recent months, before stamping the sentiment. Splatters and sequins finished the almost retro look.

My next card uses the Fa La La La Latte set in combination with the Confetti #1 slimline stencil.

The inspiration was hot spiced chocolate with a touch of cream melting on top. This cosy cup image reminds me of cold late afternoons browsing Christmas market stalls, twinkling lights, Christmas carols ... I can dream ... not much of it happening this year around where I live.

i used my metallic pencils for colouring and a touch of Elegant Eggplant SU ink for sponging the stars and dots.

A Joyful Christmas

 Hi Crafty Friends!

It's the time of year again ... yes, Tracey McNeely is celebrating the 25 Days of Christmas Tags ... lots of lovely inspiration to be found on her blog here.

Today it's STAMPlorations turn to be featured, and this in my DT piece ...

I went for an unconventional tag shape and used one of the Pierced Curly Frames/Tags Nesting Dies which I coloured with Brusho and PaperArtsy Infusion powders plus a touch of Iridescent Gold Brusho SprinkleIT. Sadly the golden shimmer can't be seen in the photo.

The border was stamped using partial image of the coffee cup stamp from the Holiday Mocha Feels set and Rainforest Green Prism ink.

The tag was finished off with a stamped sentiment, Joyful Christmas, sequins and ribbon.

During Tracey's event selected Christmas/Holiday themed products in the STAMPlorations store are on offer at 10% to 20% off instantly, no coupon needed. You can even get an added 20% off the offer prices by using my personal discount code STAMPGIRLMONIKA at checkout. I got to be honest, if you use my personal discount code and/or the product/store links I provide in my post, I'll get a little reward at no extra cost to you.

Pink Anniversary

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations. Here is today's DT project ...

I hardly ever make cards using just die-cuts. Today's project is one of these, a simple sentiment with a shaker balloon and a pop of colour. Simple, easy ... yet still full of impact ... the balloon creating the movement.

November Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge at STAMPlorations

Hello Crafty Friends!

Let's welcome November and the start of another round of challenges over at STAMPlorations. Here is my DT piece for this month's Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge ...

The theme for the current challenge is Stamps & Contrast and the photo prompt can be seen below. Your project can either be inspired by the theme, photo prompt or both. The full challenge rules can be found here on the STAMPlorations Blog.

My card was inspired by both the theme and the photo prompt. I used the Circles and Rectangles Flexi-Templates to create the bold shapes with the doodled frames. The doodled frames and splatters contrast nicely with the clean lines of my stamped and fuzzy cut image.

As for the Theme & Photo Prompt Challenge prizes:
One winner of a $20 gift code will be picked by one member of our DT.
Plus 3 randomly drawn winners will each receive a $7 gift code.

In order to be considered for a prize, make sure you've followed the rules here.

Pop over to the STAMPlorations Blog to check out how my teamies interpreted the challenge theme and prompt and of course to join in the fun too.
