Here are my DT pieces for DAY 2 featuring Leafy designed by Deepti aka Dee's Artsy Impressions ...

For my first card, I stamped one of the leaf stamps into a wet watercolour background to get the blurry look. I finished off with a fuzzy cut leaf and stamped sentiment strip.

My second card features stamping using two different shades of green to add depth. A simple embossed sentiment and sequins finished my card off.

Butterfly Happy

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  I had to use the butterfly from Sweetly, one of the sets in this week's release  ...

Yep, I've been using tissue paper again. This time I used it simply for a textured background rather than adding texture to die-cuts which I did in last week's Spotlight Project here.  It adds quite a bit of interest without being over powering. To finish I simply added the butterfly and die-cut sentiment.

Here are my DT pieces for DAY 1 featuring Layered Vase designed by Shirley aka The Bee's Knees ...

My first card has been simply stamped using some of my Izink inks. Whenever I use them on new stamps the ink pearls a bit and doesn't give a solid coverage when stamping. I rather like the effect for artsy cards with splatters. The colours I used are: Grenadine and Cerise for the flowers, Verveine and Menthe for the leaves and Mer Du Sud for the vase.

My second card uses a partially stamped and gold embossed vase with a bit of watercolouring.

Layered Vase

Flowers Whisper

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  I had this card already stamped with the Blossom Sprays 2 and uncovered it the other day when I was moving bits about to sort them out. It was time to turn it into this one-layer card ...

I simply watercoloured the flowers and surrounding area, adding some splatters into the wet paint as I went along. I then finished off with a gold embossed sentiment and a few tiny gems.

A simply stenciled background provides the perfect backdrop to my glittery coffee cup. I added a bit of vellum behind it to help the die-cut stand out better before finishing off with a sticker sentiment and sequins.

Oh Frap!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Tuesday and this means it's Inspiration Time over at STAMPlorations.  I rather like this 'oh frap!' sentiment, it's quite useful for any situation one wants to say 'I'm sorry' for especially belated birthdays. That's what I had in mind when creating my card ...

It's been ages since I last used my distress inks, they definitely needed an outing for today's card. I picked up Wilted Violet, Abandoned Coral and Twisted Citron plus the Make Marks 2 stencil and one of the Art Marks 2 stamps and set about creating my background. I then finished off with my little die-cut toppers and sequins.

The one with the sentiment uses a sticker and adding the dashed lines along the sticker's edges turns it into a real focal point.
